If by Carnival Agent you mean you booked direct with the cruise line then no, they wouldn't most likely wouldn't pass anything on to you. They are order takers.

I am sure they were most proficient with the credit card entry system though. Wink

I am almost 50 years young, and I do get tired. It just seemed like that the last cruise I went on after a day in the sun and fun and then you nap, get up, shower and get ready to go out for the evening it would be 7:30 p.m. already. Then after you eat its 8:30-9:00 p.m. and that's when the shows were going on. That was on NCL. There was still plenty left to do, but the Broadway type shows and such would be going on while we were at dinner so we missed most of them. If we waited to eat until after they were over, then we would have had to eat from the buffet or hamburgers. That's the good thing about cruising though. You can always find something to do at most anytime. Oh and yes, 62 is still very young. It's the new 50 you know and I'm still 40! (smile)

Comparing a little 3 or 4 nighter that hits one or two ports near by, Ensenada from the left coast and bahamas from FL are normally disigned as a quick get away vs a vacation. They're typically priced very low and often attract a different demographic. Its one of the reasons I hate when I hear recommendatios for first time cruisers to take a quickie to see if they like cruising. They're not really getting the full experience. They're getting a taste of an older ship in most cases and by the time they figure out their way around the ship and get comfortable, the cruise is over.

These are fine to get away and relax for a few days but your expectations have to be way different for for a quickie than a 7 day or longer cruise experience.

Cheers, Neil

I am one of those people who after doing my first 7 day cruise wanted to get my Mom and Sister into cruising. So when I got home we booked a 4 day cruise out of LA (not on Carnival) it was an older ship but I warned them this might be the case. I also warned them it might be more of a party cruise since it was a little weekend get-a-way cruise. I wanted to see if they would get sea sick (they didn't), if they would be comfortable in the rooms (they were), if they liked the dining (they thought it was ok). Overall we had a great time. My Mom decided 4 days wasn't enough and she needed a balcony room. So my husband and I went on a cruise last Dec and my Mom went and loved being on the ship for 7 days with her balcony. Now she has decided that 7 days is not enough and she wants to do an 11 day cruise and wants a suite! So we are booked for an 11 day cruise to the Caribbean in a Royal Suite happy dance I am hoping the next one will be for 2 weeks and in the Penthouse! Smile I am also in the process of researching an Alaskan cruise for my sister, brother in law and husband. It will be a 7 day cruise and a first for my BIL. So I got lucky with my Mom and Sister liking the short cruise, I just warned them it wasn't like the 7 day (or more)cruises.
