Has anyone ever been in an oceanview cabin at the bow of the ship(the vey last cabin facing the ocean) Fantasy M258? I'm very disappointed, i would love to be on the side with a view of the ports. Can i change my cabin? My agent has been giving my really hard time. Confused

You don't always dock with the same side of the ship facing the port. (Despite the left side of the ship being called the Port side) So it truly doesn't matter which side of the ship you are on. BUT, the oceanview room you describe may very well be a porthole window. This may be a category of oceanview cabin that is less expensive than others. Your travel agent SHOULD be able to move you unless you are not willing to pay more (as a better category room will cost more money) If he won't help you move, I'd take my business elsewhere. But if he can't move you for the same fare, then understand that may be because that cabin is the least expensive category of ocean views. Ifyou offer to pay more AND your agent refuses to try to have you moved, call Carnival direct and ask one of their cruise specialists if the ship is full and tell them you are trying to move and why and they can tell you if he is being stubborn or if there just isn't any other cabins. But, don't be shocked when the CCL TA tells you that they can not re-book you... you have to go through your agent. BUt at least you will know what he is up to..

We were in that cabin on the Inspiration (same size ship) and loved it. It looked out the back of the ship, had a nice big window, and since we were tendered in at the ports, we could see parts of the islands when the ship would swing around with the wind.

When you booked your cruise did you agree to take a "Guarantee" for a possible upgrade? If so, then that is the risk you take that it might not always be in the most desirable location. As the others have said, the ship could be full and your agent can't get you moved.

Thanks to all that replied, i didn't book this cabin as a gauranteed for possible upgrade. When i spoke with my agent about changing cabins, "she said she would see what she could do", well that was a week ago. She also informed me that i'm with a group that i know nothing about. Next time i will be more specfic when booking a cruise. I booked this trip in Feb. 06 (I guess that doesn't matter). Confused

As a sailor, I've not to nit-pick just a bit. M258 is at the stern, not the bow. The best thing about the aft (rear) cabins is the view at night, the green wake the ship leaves behind. If you ever see flashes of light (looks like a green flash bulb) it's really cool (it's plankton). But the best view of the ports is from the pool deck. Enjoy your cruse!

Purple: We were on M (Main) deck, so you will just be one deck higher. We loved the room, looking out the back of the ship at the wake, and it was very quiet. It is in the far back of the ship, so you have very little hall traffic and you are far enough away from the elevators, but close enough that you can get up to the Lido (pool) deck in a jiffy. There is also very little ship noise or vibration - just enough to lull you to sleep at night. You will enjoy !!!

The fact that your Travel Agency booked you into a group will have nothing to do with what you experience on the ship. Travel Agency's book individuals into group blocked space all the time. Your Travel Agency did YOU a favor. By booking you into group space she saved you money. If your dining table happens to be assigned with the group it really is no different than if you had been booked at another table with people you don't know. Lighten up on your Agent.

I have been all the way forward (facing the bow) and all the way aft (balcony facing aft) and in the middle....been port and starboard. Loved them all. Been in M256. Liked it because there was no traffic passing your cabin door.

Recently found out we have R206 on Inspiration. Through previous dicussions people have identified cabins that may be more noisy than others. This room appears to be close to stairs. Should I be concerned?

We are on Conquest, Stateroom 1005, Empress Deck. That was printed on our tickets. Has anyone stayed in this room or close?
