WE are getting ready to leave on our first cruise via Carnival Ectasy next week. They have supposedly upgraded us to category 6B but our room is at the back of the ship....is this good or bad???
I personally like the cabins that are from the middle to the rear of the ship. The ride is much smoother than the bow portion in my opinion. Like Island said, any cabin on a cruise ship is better than not being on one at all! Enjoy!

RobinJC, see my reply to you under"General Cruise Chat." And yes, you might hear a little sound from the wake if you have a balcony and leave the door open, but I find that very relaxing.

We just returned from the Ecstasy on Saturday. We were upgraded from an interior room to a porthole room, but on the bow. Some movement doesn't bother me at all, but Friday, our last day at sea, was very rough. We stayed in the middle of the ship, on the Lido deck as much as possible. It was pretty crazy in our room in the middle of the day. It was really difficult to walk anywhere on the ship. By late evening it had settled down quite a bit, so we were able to go to our room without being thrown around. We spend some time on the back of the ship, and it was very rough during this time. I would imagine it wouldn't be as bad as the bow though.
When you board, go to the Panorama Grill buffet to eat, be sure to have the chocolate pie. It's the absolute best dessert on the ship, and they only serve it to you once! It's the one with the raspberry garnish on top. All the desserts are great, but this pie was the hit of the ship! Have an extra slice for me!! ha!
One more thing....if you plan to go to any shows in the Blue Sapphire Lounge, get there very early to get a seat on the floor. You absolutely can not see the stage from the balcony unless you have a front row seat. Very bad designing on Carnival's part!
Have a great cruise....hope the weather is good for you!
I plan to write a review, just haven't had a chance yet.
