Sorry A'ndrea, I was trying to post a lame photo that didn't work. Probably for the best. No, I did not serve in the military.

You mean the atavachron from All Our Yesterdays?

It could also be the Guardian Of Forever from The City On The Edge Of Forever.

Precisely Dave. I knew you would pick it up immediately. How is your "day off"? Are you going to go to the airport to see Air Force One?

You think? I "think" Hilary is a man. Why don't you check on that and get back to us?

You know.. I was just going to let this go, but I couldn't. There really was no need to jump on me like that Ken. I said "I think" because I really didn't know for sure who issues them. I was just trying to help... So sorry if I didn't have all the exact details for a full response.

Don't take it that way, Jim. Just messing with you for taking it out on f-mattox. But I should know better than to "mess with Texas" (I mean that in the nicest way.)
I was wrong, wrong, wrong.

Ohhhh.. then maybe I owe an apology to f-mattox, I really didn't mean to berate him in anyway either. Sorry Rick! I was doing my impression of a TV commerical that plays around here where one of the actors says 'And that is JUST Wrong Wrong Wrong!!' Without even realizing that it would be lost in context.

Ken, when I read your reply, my first thought was that you expected me to find out if Hillary is actually a man or not and I was going to make it VERY clear that I DO NOT WANT THAT JOB!

Some things are better left unknown. Eek

Its all good.

I watched the landing on TV. The motorcade arrived at the plant about 10 minutes ago. Air Force One landed from the south so I didn't see it on approach. But it should also take off from the south so I might see it after it leaves the airport (I am north of the airport by a few miles). Traffic is snarled for miles around the route they took.

Yes, I go to airliners.net often. Bush is in the plant right now getting the 50 cent tour. They took him to the control room to backslap and gladhand with the unit operators. They are now headed for the LiveWell Center which has been set up for the podium and his remarks. This is where the 100 employees will be. An aside....they were told to dress like it was a regular workday because they don't want this staged event to look like a staged event. Some anti-nuke protesters and other whackos are down the road from the plant with signs.

He gave a good speech. I saw lots of my friends in the audience afterwards, getting autographs. I feel quite ashamed at this point about my whining over the past couple days.

"whackos," as in bushwhackos?

Dave, you can whine as much as you want...besides, it's gotta rub off having to listen to all the whiners here! It's a joke, people, don't whine to Dave about it.

I ask because my husband has metal implanted in his body that sets off the airport detectors and causes many problems and makes him very cranky. Although I have informed him that he IS going to get on a plane in January because he IS going on a cruise with me (specifically on the Spirit) and he IS going to have fun... Wink if he has to go through a metal detector every time we board the ship I may have to cancel any excursions and just keep him on the ship. Or spend significant amounts of money keeping him supplied in margaritas. Big Grin There is nothing crankier than a husband who must sit in a glass cage while being patted down for fifteen minutes.

Back to the question... Please tell me there are no metal detectors on board... (fingers crossed)!

Hi GinoTheSailor! The metal detector itself doesn't bother him, it is whatever process is used after that to determine that he does indeed have metal in his hips, and not a dangerous object in his pocket. Can you tell me if his gold "Metal in Body" card will suffice, or if he has to have several pat-downs, or if they really go all out and bring over managers and officials to do a strip search? Eek He understands that they have to check, but the longer the process takes the more cranky he becomes. Do you have any idea what will happen when the detector goes off? And Thanks!!
