The kiddos will be in upper berths overhead. It's tight but managable. The Fantasy has larger cabins than most ships with other lines, 186 sq ft. Most ships her age have far smaller cabins so if you're going to fit four, it's the right ship to do it with.

I have girls that are 15 and 16. I guess this may be too tight. Can I just get them a room on the side of me and my husband's???

First, sorry for the late welcome but welcome to cruise-chat! You'll have to talk to your T/A to see what the availability is for your sailing. There are cabins that have a connecting door but they book very early. Cabins next door should not be a problem unless you're close to your sailing date. It'll cost a little more for two cabins but will give you the extra room you're looking for and with teenaged girls you'll be very thankful for the extra bathroom when it comes time to get ready for dinner!

Your poor hubby is out-numbered, I'm betting he'll like two cabins too. Poor guy will never get the bathroom if you all share a cabin!

Cheers, Neil

The problem is Carnival has a specific policy about age requirements for cabin occupancy.

Read here.

It is still doable in a single cabin, it will be tight as Neil said. We have done it with 3 adults in an inside cabin on the Tropicale (smaller cabin). The thing we learned was to have a bathroom schedule. Smile

You can probably skate around the age requirement if you book a cabin in each of the adults names.

With girls that age I would try for the connecting cabins or at least nest to each other.

You can still get two cabins even with the age thing. Just book hubby and one girl in a cabin and you and the other girl in the second cabin. You don't have to occupy them that way but have to do it for booking purposes.

Neil, I am sorry I didn't see your last post.

They have been adding connecting doors during the refurbishments of the Fantasy Class ships. They have not added them to the Fantasy yet though. Smile

Oops, didn't look back at the ship, my bad. I'm a wealth of mis-information lately. Thanks Dwayne, glad there are always some knowledgable folks like you to help when I go brain dead. Happening way too often lately, must be wave season!

Cheers, Neil

If you are getting balcony cabins next to each other you can request to have the partition removed so you end up with a bigger balcony.

If you can manage to book two cabins, that is the best solution. While the cabin itself is probablyok for the 4 of you, having 2 teen girls fighting over bathroom time with you and your husband is going to make things interesting...

If you are not going until Feb. 09, you might be able to get connecting cabins. The Fantasy will be done with the drydock refurbishments then.

I would only consider the two-cabin option if they are adjoining. It doesn't matter about the connecting door. You will still be able to ascertain what is taking place next door. Please, do not take offense at this statement as I do not know your daughters but I have seen many teens (girls and boys) left alone in rooms and the noise level they achieve can be tremendous. Other teens (and they are bound to meet more of their age group) seem to gravitate to the adult-less cabins.

I had almost the exact same situation....a balcony room for 4. Me, DH and 2 DD's ages 11 and 17. To be honest, I toyed with the idea of 2 rooms too. Glad I didn't get 2 rooms as I believe it would have been a waste of $$. We were on a 7 night cruise stopping at 4 ports. We were rarely in our room at all. We had 2 'At Sea' Days and 17 yr old DD and I sunbathed while 11 yr old DD partook in Camp Carnival. DH took naps in the stateroom and wandered around aimlessly. The ONLY times we felt cramped were the couple of occasions when we returned to the ship from excursions and had to hurry up to get ready for our early dinner seating. It was our first time ever cruising and I wasn't the least bit disappointed.

Hello all. We are new here. We are going on the Fantasy on the 18th and there will be 4 of us as well. 2 adults, 2 boys, 1 cabin. Going to be fun. But being as this will be our first cruise. Not going to worry. Now next cruise. It's 2 rooms with a balcony.

WE've done it twice and it worked fine. Remember the important thing....how much time do you spend in your room? Yes, you do need to budget bathroom time and shower time, dressing time etc. But I've always said "Don't spend money on your room; spend it on your vacation!" Spend it on a great ship, a wonderful cruise, and great excursions.

Hello StarFire, and Welcome to Cruise-Chat!

Congrats on your first cruise. You will need to use the BB Code option on the ticker site to post your ticker. The HTTP option does not work here.

Welcome aboard,
