Do the Carnival Cruise Line do anything for the Christmas holidays? If so, when does it usually begin and what types of things do they do? I'll be leaving on the Holiday Cruise ship December 4-December 10.

Well lets see... do they do anything.. hmm yes, they sail around in cruise ships... take you money ... get you drunk (and take more of your money...)

Seriously though.. they should have the ship decorated for X-Mas by that time. It may be strange to be floating around on a cruise ship hearing Christmas carols...

LenardM,

Carnival will decorate the ship 2 weeks prior to the Holiday. It will be in a festive, yet non religious way. If you want any special services, it is really busy then so ask early.

Actually I believe they decorate right after Thanksgiving. I have been on Carnival and Disney ships the first week of December and they were already decorated.

LenardM,

I would go by what Cruise Fanatic said. I got my info. directly from a Carnival Reservationist and they are not always right.

Thanks everyone! How's the weather like in Mexico during December? And any good shopping places in Playa or Cozumel?

Never been in December. On Cozumel I like the town shopping and the side streets for bargains from the local vendors.

I love the Cruise tickers that everyone uses to countdown till their cruise. I've tried doing so but i just could'nt figure it out. Also i know that i'm asking alot of questions, its just that i'm so curious being that this is my first cruise and all. My TA told us that the time that we chose to leave is very slow between Thanksgiving and Christmas. So we got a great deal! I've been looking at other websites about the opportunity to be "upgraded" to another room, but i heard the chances are slim. We booked a Guaranteed room, so i was hoping that with it being slow, what was the chance of it being upgraded?

There are a lot of things that play into the fact whether you get upgraded or not. One is the number of groups onboard your sailing. When they start assigning cabins for the groups they do a lot of upgrading. It's hard to say if you will get upgraded or not. I have cruised many times the first week of December. It's a nice time to cruise.

We have been to Cozumel in October, November and December. The end of December (first of January) was the only time we got hit with a
"Norte" (cold front) . It was windy and actually chilly on the beach. There was rain headed our way. But that is like any other time...the luck (or unluck) of the draw.

Recently read an article that said they would have Christmas trees and wreaths and Midnight Mass. It did not mention the time frames.

Did say Santa would visit on Christmas Smile
