If you bring your own wine bottle to dinner, cork or not, you will be charged.. and thats if they even allow you to bring it in. Here's my advice...put anything you want to bring in your checked luggage and leave it at that. To avoid chance of breakage, bring box wine. Fill your glass before you leave your cabin for dinner and buy any refills from them. it will all work out fine if you don't get too complicated.

I just buy my wine and other booze on the ship. Like you said - don't make it too complicated. Some of these plans people come up with sound like rejected plots for James Bond movies! At some point, the effort to save a couple bucks can get in the way of one's ability to enjoy the cruise.

You are exactly right about that. A person down the hall from us on the last cruise brought 2 magnums of red wine in her checked luggage - they were broken and wine was dripping out of her suitcase siting outside the door. With all her clothes ruined and then no wine, her thrift plan went out the window!

It's always funny to hear the pains that some folks will go through to sneak stuff aboard. Rum in the tea bottle, vodka in the mouthwash, etc... After talking to some of them, I think the security staffers have seen it all (or read about it here).
It is a good reason to get to the topless deck though... "Honest honey, my shirts are all ruined, I HAVE to hang out up here..."

Only thing, what would have been hanging out up there would not have been a pretty sight! Smile

This will be our third cruise on the Holiday, and each time we have had a Cat. 12 suite - which means the topless deck is direcly above us. On both of our previous Holiday cruises the topless deck was deserted. Not sure what will happen this coming March, when the cruise we are on is going to be maxed out with spring breakers!

Dave, I just noticed your updated signature on another thread. Congratulations on the booking! I know how much you enjoy this ship.

And, after all that you've been through these past few months, I don't think a few spring breakers will be any bother.

My best to Vanessa.

Thanks Lisa. I figured we needed a little break and the Holiday fit in perfectly. Vanessa is doing great now that the halo is gone - she is driving again which is a milestone.

I am a mental case when it comes to ships! I love the new ones like the Freedom Of The Seas since they have so much to offer. But then I also love the small ships because they seem easier to "get comfortable" with - such as the Holiday. I guess it depends on the mood I want for the cruise. So this year we have two extremes - Holiday in March, and Liberty Of The Seas in June. The former could fit 3 times over in the latter!

St. Patty's day cruise for Dave!

Glad to hear the news about Vanessa Smile

Have crusied this week and is full of the college kids. I think it is fun. Might be a little rowdier on the shorter cruises. I was on Pride for 7 days. But I thought it was entertaining.

Well, just as long as they don't run out of beer it will be okay! Just tell them Tennessee folks to leave their whittlin' knives and moonshine at home!

Hey Dave, the topless deck's been moved. You'll have a minigolf course over your head now. Practice your short game...

I guess I need to proclaim myself the course marshal and enforce a no jumping rule. I'll gladly do this for Carnival, for a reasonable adjustment in my bar tab. Cool
