It is a fairly easy drive, except for the part of I-65 from south of Cullmann to south of Birmingham. A rather annoying piece of interstate. Keep an eye out for wild drivers.

Just returned from the Holiday. Wonderful ship and great staff! We stayed in M116 and the room was awesome! Our cabin steward's name was Francisco. He remembered our name the first night of the cruise. The entertainment was fun and i also participated in one of the events. the game was called survivor. Had a blast! The food is great and the 24hr pizza parlor is wonderful when you want to have a snack and walk on the deck around midnight. Room service is great with a limited menu. We recommend the turkey sandwiches. The casual dinner was great. The entertainment they provided with the dinner is a nice twist to a meal. Oh, the beds in the cabins are the best i've ever slept on. The ports are good and overall, for my first cruise and honeymoon, we will definitly book another cruise with Carnival and Holiday!

The 2005 refurb was delayed when Holiday was rented to FEMA after Hurricane Katrina. But the ship went through refurbishment earlier this year after the FEMA charter ended, and I have read many good reports. They also installed a miniature golf course in the big underused area above the buffet restaurant.

Letting one's hair down on the Holiday is a good thing to do. Wink

You can brink wine aboard, but there is a corkage fee in the dining room. If you opt for what they have already, it's like buying a bottle in a restaraunt (=kinda pricey).

Spacey...pack some wine, carefully wrapped up, in your checked luggage, or the bags you give to the porter to put on the ship. For embarkation, you can also have 2 bottles in your carry on for the sail-away. Neat thing about the Holiday and sailing from Mobile, no one will laugh if your wine is in a box.

tncruiseman,

Say howdy to your cruise partners for the 3/17/07 voyage of the Holiday! I just booked it. It is our son's school break week and I figured we needed a cruise before our cruise with RCCL in June.

That is terrific! I am really looking forward to meeting you, and sailing on the Holiday. With no great plans and expectations, I bet this one will be the most fun yet! Everyone that has been on her agrees with you saying the crew is among the best at sea.

I like the sign. Sounds like something I'd write! Humor helps in these situations.

I like how they used the red fish all swiming one way and the white one doing the oposite.

My Mom used to say "there's one in every Crowd"

Cute sign! Glad Carnival doesn't have one like it! Now Mr. O, you need to book the Holiday for 3/17 out of Mobile.
