Welcome to CruiseChat!

I was just on the Freedom in December, it's a very nice ship. Did you have questions about the ship or the ports?

There are a lot of things in Cozumel depending on your interests. In Cayman I would say Stingray City for sure. If you have never been to Jamaica Dunn's River Falls is a good choice.

We just took our first cruise on the Carnival Freedom. It was the most Fantastic Vacation ever and We'll be going again! As far as the ship it is a buffet for your senses! The colours the sounds and the sights...Wow! My advise it. Don't take a lot of clothes because we spent most of our time in our bathing suits with maybe a light top over it. You'll want a couple of dressy outfits for the formal dining nights. The staff in the Posh dining room is the best and the food is too. We tried some new foods as well as traditional dishes like burgers and steaks everything was wonderful! The melting chocolate cake is to die for! If you like a more quiet time try the third deck just outside the main lobby. Seems as though not many folks know about this and there are usually deck chairs available. Watch for the flying fish as you leave Miami. No I'm not kidding there really is such a thing to see! They hover near the surface of the water before diving back in. As far as the excursions, we took the "Exploring Cozumel by jeep With Snorkel" tour. As this was our first time Snorkeling we weren't quite sure what to expect. Our Guide Edwardo was soooo funny! I would suggest that you purchase your own snorkel and mask before you go on your cruise though. (I know they "say" they are all sanitized after each use but....) Take lots of small bills with you to Jamaica, everyone wants a tip even for services already paid for. My Husband was almost a victim of a "money swap" but luckily I was there to put a stop to it. So just be aware they are out there waiting to prey on you if your not careful. In Jamaica we did the"Dunn's River Falls and Bamboo Beach Club" this was a lot of fun as well. If your doing the Falls bring along your own beach shoes, (not just old sneakers" I mean the kind with the mesh tops and rubber soles. The Bamboo beach club was also very relaxing, but we were so tired we didn't stay very long there. I would also recommend you pack an empty backpack if your planning any shopping at any of the ports. I hope this has been helpful to you and I hope you have even half as much fun as we did. God Bless
