I am wanting to take a cruise in March 09, and I am trying to decide between the Liberty or Triumph. Any suggestions? Also, the rooms that end in even numbers is that port side? This will be my first balcony cruise so I want to make sure I get a good room.

Even numbered cabins are port side, odd starboard. Are the ships doing the same itinerary on the dates you're looking at? They're both fine ship, Liberty is newer. I'd look more at desirable itins and value than the ship itself.

Since the itineraries look the same to me, I would probably pick the Liberty. If the price was the same of course. The Triumph doesn't have the Seaside Theater yet. However, the Triumph is scheduled for drydock in late September and may just get it. Again, price would be the deciding factor for me.

Another thing, just because the cabins are on the Port Side of the ship, doesn't mean the ship will be docking that way. Just in case that was a consideration about the cabin numbers. You would have to research each ship's docking history, and even then it could change.

You are doing the right thing by booking early. Good Luck!

Dwayne

I'm looking at the Liberty and Triumph also...I've never cruised Carnival...NCL, RCL and Princess have taken me on 19 cruises...But my TA has a great price on the Liberty for January 2009 for a 7 day cruise for $499 including air..or the Triumph for $539 and air...I'm thinking the Liberty..newer and cheaper....Happy Cruising.....

I have heard quite a few raves about the Liberty as well. Smile

She was my pick for our cruise this year. Just couldn't get the logistics worked out with our friend's schedules. We were trying to do the 8 day when she was based in FLL.

I think you should choose the Liberty if the itenerary and price are relatively the same. I cruise the Liberty in 2007 and had a wonderful time. Carnival did a great job with that cruise on the Liberty and you should be pleased. The Triumph is a little older but with some upgrades and getting a little refurbished it might be nice as well.

Liberty, hands down. Beautiful ship and well maintained. I sailed her in May and had a fabulous time. Not to take away from the Triumph, she is also a wonderful ship, but the Liberty is newer and has more attractive itinneraries. Do not miss the Supper Club on the Liberty. WOW!!!
