We have been on Royal Caribbeans Navigator of the Seas but have never cruised with Carnival. What is the difference between the two. We are going on the Glory March 8.
My husband and I have cruised both Royal Caribbean (Explorer and Grandeur) and Carnival (Conquest) and will be taking our 2nd Carnival cruise (the Spirit) in April. Both are fine cruise lines. Carnival does seem to have a younger crowd that Royal Caribbean did. Food and service on both were very good. Carnival regular balcony rooms had closets that were bigger than Royal Caribbean.
You probably won't notice a lot of differences. I think Carnival has better buffet food, to include excellent pizza and deli sandwiches. The dining rooms are pretty much equal between the two lines. Both have great service.
To me Carnival seems a little more rigid in policy enforcement than does RCI where things can bend a little - most notably at bars. Carnival bartenders have little leeway as opposed to RCI bartenders. Just my impression. But it really isn't a big deal. I like RCI but my favorite cruise ship is Carnival's "oldest ship" the Holiday.
Thanks, we were really worried because we loved the Navigator so much. I would hate to take a cruise and be disappointed. My wife and I are taking our 4 kids ages 20, 18, 17, and 13 and they are all very excited. My 3 oldest kids have passports but my wife and I and 13 year old do not. We just booked this cruise a few days ago and hadn't planned on cruising until the end of the year so yes we put off the passport thing and now regret it. We called Carnival and they said we didn't need them. Will we have any problems getting on and off the ship and ports. We are going to Cozumel, Belize, and Nassau.

You should be okay with the cruise card and photo ID for the port calls. Of course, it really doesn't matter for you now since the cruise is almost here and it is too late to get a passport unless you want to expedite it.
Just make sure it's a Certified Copy Birth Certificate...and not a hospital souvenir certificate...it has to have a raised seal...they are really looking hard at the birth certificates......somewhere on cruise chat there was a party that got turned away from the ship for not having the Certified Copy. Double check...Happy Cruising.....
