We are booked in December on the Conquest. We have a definite room assignment of cabin 6489 8(A) the rear of the ship. Our planner told us this is an extended balcony. I am wondering is this a good room to be in? Please someone help. This is our 1st cruise and I want to make sure that everything is nice and we arent in a noisy part of the ship. Thank you all in advance.

When I saw you had a room on deck 6 aft I was really concerned. The piano bar is back there on deck 5 and when we were on board in the piano bar, the guests were complaining about the noise (the piano bar goes to at least 1am...) But I checked the deck plans online and if that is truly your cabin number you should have a great cabin. It is far enough away from the noise that you should not have a problem. The "extended balcony" comes from the fact you are on the fan tail (back end) of the ship so the balcony is much deeper than normal. Have a great cruise.. the Conquest is a great ship and the crew know how to have have!

We cruised on the Conquest in room 6452 in May 2006. This cabin had the wrap around balcony on the corner, it was HUGE! The one you will be in is not as big but it is larger than the reguilar balcony cabins on the sides. There is a small covered area and most of the balcony is in the open air. It's a great place to hang out when leaving port, the propwash in the turquoise blue water is really amazing to watch...
And if you get the same room steward we had, you will be very pleased. (I forgot his name but he got a generous tip ThumbUp )

We will be on the Conquest Nov 26th. Have cabin number 6456. The kids are next to the wrap around room on the corner,6442 & 6450, on the side. Should just be perfect. Was the cabin 6452 (corner) more expensive than the others?
