Hi all, new to the forums, lot's of questions, so please be gentle. 1. My wife is very curious about attire, from what we know there's 2 formal nights, but what about the other nights? How formal is formal? 2. Heard alot about booking excursions with private operators, any pros/cons? 3. Anyone done any of the dive excusions in Western Carribean, best spots? 4. What is the night-life like on the Valor? (I've seen the promos from Carnival, but wondering about reality ) Any other thoughts are appreciated... Thanks!
We took our first Carnival cruise in August to Canada on the Victory. WE had concerns about the ship because we thought maybe the crowd would be too rowdy or the ship not as nice as the two RCCL we have been on. You know Carnival the party ships. Well we thought the ship was beautiful and the shows were great. The cabins were terrific. Our big complaint was the temperature of the food. Except for the soup and the pizza all other foods were lukewarm or cold.
Formal means a nice dress or even pants suit that you might wear to a wedding. My husband wore a suit. WE have never done gown or tux. The non formal nights were nice capris, skirts or slacks. Men can wear golf type shirts or cruise wear shirts as I call them. Have fun. YOu can't help it!!! Kate
