A cruise ship is a floating hotel. You stay in the same cabin for the entire time but you go different places. Your food and entertainment is included in the price and there is lots of choice for things to do including the option to sit by the pool and do nothing. You can get off the ship and explore the ports or stay on board. And there are cruises in all parts of the world.
I see reading this forum, I assume people are listing all the cruises they have been on and the yr boy thats alot. Why so popular,
Not everyone lists all of their cruises.
Cruising is addictive from the first one. Once on board you get hooked. There is no better way to vacation! You have it all. The food, entertainment, and the ports to visit. The thing I like too is the friendly atmosphere of fellow vacationer's going on the same vacation and talking with each other. Another thing, is just being on a ship in general. The whole experience just feels right.
Listing the cruises is just one way for folks to know if someone has been on a particular ship so that they can ask questions.
Yes, we are addicted.
I love unpacking ONE time and then being transported to Cozumel....Grand Cayman....and all the lovely places I like to go.
OR just sitting on the deck on a sea day and watching the waves go by to be surprised by the occasional dolphin.
But the real draw is that my 17 year old son with Autism gets to be a "normal kid" for a week. Over the years, Camp Carnival and Club O2 have performed to heroic heights to make his life as normal as possible...and they have succeeded. When he is on a ship...he isn't a kid with Autism...he is just a kid.

There is no other vacation like a cruise, period. The ships are amazing, the food is wonderful, the staff is attentive and caring, the ports are fantastic, the entertainment is spectacular. You unpack once and the ship is your home for the duration of your cruise. The only bad part is having to pack to debark. It's so sad, you know you won't see your on board family again. Once you experience it, you won't go back to a land vacation again.
I agree I went on my first cruise in 2007 I loved it so much I went again in 2008 and I plan to go again in 2010 if all goes well, Yes it is indeed additive.
penny3333 says it for us all,so well and so perfectly! Thank You penny! You might consider adding-It's theComplete,Unadulterated Relaxation!! (The motion of the ocean helps too!)
I don't know if it's the motion of the ocean, or I just wear myself out trying to do everything. Or, I can forget about the real world and everyday stresses for a while. But for some reason I sleep really well on the cruise.

I once went thirteen (13) months ashore without a cruise! It was the worst 13 months of my life! I'll never do that again! Even a short 1 nite cruise to nowhere is better than the long haul ashore!
My friends daughter is a dance captain aboard an an NCL ship-she has become an addicted sailor-despite many dance successes ashore with the professional and economic successes-she can no longer stand to spend anything more than a few months ashore between contracts! Would that I could be younger-I'd ship out on a moments notice! This is one addiction for which I am glad there is no real cure!
IslandCruz, you ar so so right when i get on a cruise ship i have the best sleep known to man, i cant explain why the sleep is so so good. Sometimes i have to make myself get out of the bed and remind myself you are on vacation, get up and see the other parts of the ship.

Some of the reasons we sleep so well is we are on vacation and NO WORRIES and maybe another is the beds are wonderful and we are on a CRUISE YEA!!!! Sorry got a little excited.
A cruise may be so addictive, because it is affordable, destinations are prearranged, simple to purchase, and paid in advance for the most part before you leave home. The cruise simply requires that I pack and make my way to the port. My luggage is managed for me and reappears in my cabin. I unpack once for multiple destinations and the fun begins. I can do what I want whenever I desire, or do nothing at all. I travel SOLO for the most art and can feel very safe as guest aboard the ship. Carnival Cruise Line offers a reasonable rate for a SOLO traveler to travel several times a year without going bankrupt. I enjoy being around people who are all happy, relaxed, and stress free. The cruise staff remembers my name and they are generally happy to take care of their guest. I discovered on my first cruise how relaxing a frozen drink can be at 2 PM. I can actually purchase one of each kind of frozen daiquiri over seven days. In addition, the bartenders can create a combination of several flavors of frozen daiquiris and put them into one glass, just for me! The freedom of sipping a beautiful and refreshing drink and bathing in the sun is awesome. Deciding to have a two hour detoxifying massage is the bomb. The captain invites me to the past guest reception for some fantastic drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Each time I cruise I get extra perks that keeps me coming back despite my addiction.
I just love all of it: shore excursions, frozen drinks, looking out and seeing nothing but more water, looking out and being able to see a new port in view, delicious ready to eat food, taking photographs that capture my smiles, hearing the sounds of the casino, the beautiful live shows, able to watch an entire movie without interruption, and waiting to go ashore at yet- another port. Come on 11.21.08…

Well why is a cruise so addictive?? maybe the five star food the great shows don't really know but what I know is way better than staying for work and beside have you seen the caribbean ocean under the stars with your wife?? well maybe is the romantic getaway or even the great service but for me, is more like live a dream and getting in touch with what life is all about...
I will let you know when we figure it out, we are going on our 8th cruise in two 22 months. But I am going to personally research this and see if there truly is an answer hahah..It may take us a few dozen more cruises, but with help I know I will find an answer out there..hahhaha...We just love it!

Sonny my friend YOU need a 12 step program. I hope you know I am just kidding. But you do need a 12 step program, I am only wishing I was as addicted as you are.
