My girlfriend and I are going on the Triumph on April 5th. I've been hearing many horror stories about getting a deck chair on the ship. Anyone who has cruise the Triumph...can you give me any insider tips or suggestions as to where the best place is to find open chairs?
I am cruising on the Triumph in May, and, as I haven't been on it before, have been researching it some, and have also read that it is sometimes tricky to find lounge chairs. From what I've read, it seems to depend on when you are sailing (sometimes are worse than others for finding chairs). If you happen to be on a cruise where they are scarce, some advice I've read is to either wake up early (8 or 9) to claim your chair and start your day in the sun, or else try looking in places other than the main deck where chairs might be more available. Also, while I know Carnival frowns upon this, I've also read tips that advise you to "reserve" chairs with your own personal towels (not the Carnival-provided towels), as they are less likely to be removed. Good luck!

And, yes the higher decks around the pool are better, but I also agree with the person above, almost INdirectly. If you see a number of chairs with towels on them, and nobody sitting there for some time, MOVE THEM. It is inconsiderate of any cruiser to monopolize facilities that they are not actively using. But, a good tip is the early bird one. The triumph has LOTS of chairs, it just depends on the length of the cruise, and what ports, the chairs are more available on longer cruises (after the second day) and less on short jaunts.
