Is anyone else going on this cruise? My mom, aunt, and I are going. We're 49, 42, and 26. It's going to be a first for all of us! Any tips? Suggestions? Warnings? Smile

To enhance your cruise experience, It is important you plan your shore excursions.
Many are concerned about what to do in Montego Bay because they hear a lot of negative things (crime, drugs, pushy vendors etc..)

However, my family's favorite Port was Montego Bay.
That's because I did some preliminary research and found Carolyn Barrett who owns Barrett Adventures. www.barrettadventures.com I planned a day with her based on what we wanted to see.(Beach, Shopping,Food, Culture, Drinking, Family)

We ended up with a great day and found others on the same ship via message boards to join us. 12 people total is a good number for Carolyn's 15 passenger van. Total cost for the day (7 hours) was $240 or $20 per person.

Get in touch now with Carolyn, plan your day, and then enlist some new friends to join you. And let me know how it turns out.

Have Fun!

Tom

I actually had already contacted Carolyn and because there are only 3 of us, our charge was going to be a lot more, at $60 per person.

I don't know if we'll take that route or not. Still have plenty of time to decide, though I want to wrap up all the planning ASAP so I can get in the "cruisin'" mindset! LOL

Any suggestions on how to get her to lower that cost without inviting half the boat to go with us?

If you post an invitation for others to join you, you can share the cost. There is also a larger message area at cruiseaddicts.com where you can list your ship and sail date and people will contact you. You can save money and make new friends at the same time!
