I can relate to a lot of this thread. I graduated high school at a svelte 130 lbs. and was able to run a mile in 4 min 22 secs. Plus I could run the half mile in 1 min 58 sec. Now, at 215 lbs., I break a sweat just getting out of bed. Cruising is a perfect activity for me. All I can eat and enough alcohol to prevent feeling guilty.

17 years... "Graduated" in 1990. Being from Alabama, we have to put that term in parenthesis.

Uhhhh, you mean quotation marks?

Let's see, 17 years out, 85 pounds heavier=5 pounds per year.....you're about 35, so that means, in another 17 years, age 52, you'll be 300 pounds. That works in my book.

Get active, excercise, eat right. You've got many more cruises ahead of you.

drlivingston,

I got you by a second on the 880. My best time was 1:57. But you beat me by almost a 220 on the mile. My best mile time was 4:47. Still not bad for a small school, and I did that in the 9th grade and got my Varsity letter in track. Unfortunately I never got any better! I was around 119 pounds through high school. I'm, uh, about twice that weight now.

Oh, those track times were from 1970.

Jokers...there's one born every minute. The other secret to long, healthy life....mixing in a light beer or diet soda once in a while!
