I'm heading to New Orleans as much to visit Cafe du Monde for some bengets and their amazing coffe as for the cruise. I love New Orleans and having a brother there for 30 years helps. He knows all the best eats and spots to visit to soak in the culture. New Orleans is kind of a different planet, if anyone out there has never been, I'd encourage you to book the Fantasy and come in a few days early or stay a few days after your cruise, or both. Head down to the French Quarter and see a city that is unlike anywhere else you've ever visited. The birthplace of Jazz and many other non-musical firsts have happened there as well. The history, the entertainment, the music and ahhhh, the food is incredible. The bars never close so be prepared for a great party life after hours. You can sleep after you get home. There is too much going on in the Big Easy to sleep while visiting. What a great city, I can't wait!

Cheers, Neil

Can't wait to see the new and improved Fantasy in New Orleans. I may have to sneak an October cruise in to test it out.

I also love beignets. My sister and brother-in-law owned Broussards in the French Quarter when I was a teenager (100 years ago) and it was my favorite place to go in the summer.

That was when Mardi Gras was still family oriented. We went to dinner dances after the balls. Heady stuff back then for a 16 year old teenager from Mississippi.

Hi, luvs2sail. I think LHP lives in Tennessee. Smile

The Fantasy is a perfect fit for New Orleans. The City and the Ship's theme seem to match.
