The cabins are not sound proof at all. I don't find them excessively noisy either. If you have a cabin with alot of traffic above, instead of a cabin deck you might hear some noise. Or people in the hall late at night..that would be me Smile I personally get so worn out, I sleep very well on the cruise with the gentle motion.

Sherri, do you plan on making a lot of noise,, naughty girl you. The rooms are pretty sound proof to me, I can't ever recall hearing the people in the cabins next to me.

Big Grin I was just wandering because I read how alot of people "party hearty" and I can't imagine the rooms being quite. But no one has mentioned the rooms. Some hotels are not very quiet. Smile

Hi Sherri,

I agree with IslandCruz, I slept very well on the Celebration!! The bed was very comfortable, and the gentle rocking of the ship helped me sleep very well. Plus the fact that we got up very early and down very late every night!! We didn't want to miss anything they offered us or the beautiful views of the water! I would say that generally the noise was no more than a muffled bump of a door closing, or of the toilet flushing...ha! If you haven't been on a cruise before, the toilets are a real experience!

We did hear some noise occasionally, but nothing to wake us from our sleep, or to keep us from going to sleep! We were always exhausted at the end of the day!

If you are a light sleeper, take some ear plugs to use when sleeping. That would almost guarantee you wouldn't be disturbed!

Have a great time, and be sure to tell us all about the cruise when you return!!

We've made it a habit to get cabins away from the elevators. I personally prefer the front right side of the boat at the end of the hallway. Hence no traffic. Noise has never been a problem for us either.

WOW!! You have only 2 more weeks!! Do you have any idea what you are taking for clothes yet? I know I will be trying to figure what to take, what to take extra...just in case!! I ALWAYS pack too much...but as a woman...we deserve to change our minds...even last minute wardrobe changes! I'm hoping I do better this time!

I am so excited, I can't stand it. I already have one bag packed. I shop every day just in case something goes on sale that I missed....lol....hubby not laughing...
Since we only have one formal night, I bought a black cocktail skirt, with a black and silver glittery top. The other dinner nights will be skirt, and blouses or pant suits. I was on another web site, and they said black with some type of shimmer is in. My husband bought a tux, because since this is our 25th, and I haven't seen him in one since our wedding day, he surprised me. I won't let him show me him in it until formal night....silly I know, but were having a blast getting ready for this.
Did you go formal? Hubby? What did you wear? What did you find was the dress code?

Annies, I misread your question. I thought you had already gone. What ship and when do you leave?

Hi Sherri,

I have been on one other cruise, the Celebration. But we're taking the Ecstasy, November 27, for 5 days. Really starting to look forward to it! Especially after reading about all of you getting your documents in the mail! It's almost time to start shopping....heehee!!

Sherri,

Which ship are you on? Thats the same day we are leaving also but I think you may be on another cruise. We will be in Cozumel on the ummm 23rd. WE are on the Victory leaving for the 8 day cruise and visiting Cozumel, Costa Rica, and Panama. Big Grin

Ok now that I've seen that you've already packed a bag, I'm going to also! All my summer clothing is still in my dresser and really should have been exchanged for all winter clothing about a month ago. I told my husband that there was NO WAY I'd do the swap until after the cruise! I'm so excited I can barely contain myself!!!! Big Grin

Ooohhh Tracy....we are on the Ecstasy, going to Cozumel, and Progresso. It would be so much fun to have been on the same cruise. Well. Were going again March 17th, I believe, is there a chance you will be going then too? What a blast that could be. It will be our sons first cruise, and its to celebrate his last days in high school.
I'm with you. NO WAY to back up summer clothes yet. Were still heading for more summer weather. I'm glad your excited also. This is why we work so hard during the year. TO CRUISE!!!!!

Hey Sherri,

Just got off the Valor and didn't hear one word from our neighbors. Hell, we didn't even know they were there. Obviously, if there were a party in one of the rooms, we'd know, but all in all, the rooms are soundproof. The punk-asses in the halls running is another thread/story.

Cheers,
Billy

Hey Sherri,

You were mentioning about dressing up and your husband getting a tux. I didn't know if you knew, but they will have formal photos that night. They will have a place set up with a backdrop, or staircase etc.

Have cruised over St. Pattys day and was in Key West. It was so much fun with the spring breakers on board.

Best to you,
IslandCruz

Awesome. We have three boys, 24, and living in Washington, 20, living in Oklahoma, and 16 living in Oklahoma. 80 degree days here, but nights are 56. Down south no one believes in winter...lol We get mostly ice storms if ever.
Where are you from Tracy? We leave out of Galveston when we cruise.

Hi Sherri,

I'm from Pembroke, Ontario, Canada which is about and hour and a quarter west of Ottawa. The leaves have fallen, severe frost on the winshield the other day and the temperature was below zero the other day. BRRRRR Eek

Yet the past few days its been over 20 celcius. (I don't know how to work that into Fehrenheit!!) We will get about 4 feet of snow on the heavier of years. Past few years have been crazy for snow!

Well best be off, will have to go pick my son up at Hockey practice soon!

Someday we will make it to Texas! Wave
