Is it better to book shore excursions through Carnival or has anyone used other web sites to book theirs? If you Google “shore excursions” you find what look to be at least 2 reputable companies. One called shoretrips.com and the other portpromotions.com Anyone used any of these other than the actual cruise lines?

I believe booking shore excursions through Carnival is more expensive but the advantage is that they make the ship wait for you if the excursion runs late. If you book with another company and you don't make it back on time the ship has probably left and you have to catch up to next port at your own expense.

Also, carnival provides transportation. If you went to another company, you would have to pay for a taxi. Unless your paying with cash, your money is not as safe then if you went through Carnival.
