I am thinking about my costume for the cruise, if the grim reaper is spoken for, maybe the man in red with a pitchfork? Well that doesn't really fit, maybe Casper the friendly ghost?
I first went on Carnival Destiny in 1998 and it was awful and I thought, and read, here and elsewhere that Carnival stunk. But truthfully, after fourteen cruises since, Legend was probably the best cruise I ever had.

Shamrock, I'm trying to understand your post? So at first you didn't like your cruise, but you tried again, and after 14 more cruises, hindsite is that the 1st cruise was the best?
Does this mean that the other cruises were worse, or that you actually enjoyed the 1st cruise? The reason I'm asking is there are several people that have said their 1st cruise wasn't what they expected and may never cruise again. Your insight might help them.
After much discussion with my dear husband last night and this morning, I am sorry to say, we feel that we couldn't possibly cruise on The Legend. Sending our oldest off to college for her freshman year, and us being on a cruise in the middle of the ocean, probably isn't the best idea in the world. We wouldn't feel comfortable with that arrangement.
Perhaps, we can make it another time. Maybe you all can fly into JFK or LaGuardia, and we can have a weekend in the city together.
Think about that. Take in a play, tour some museums, sightsee, eat our way through Little Italy and Chinatown. The options are endless.
Sorry again. A'ndrea

Hi A'ndrea. Well that takes a little pressure off me. I had a hard time explaining why going on a 5 day cruise out of Tampa vs a 7 day out of Miami was a better thing.
Thanks for letting me know, I will keep my 11/10 plans then.
That being said, why not all of you look at the 11/10 cruise from Miami?
Ken..you can always book the Holiday for Halloween..we've got a group of 30+ going.

Ken, I wasn't yanking your chain, but I certainly was pulling on your Goofy ears.
Ken, I believe Island Cruz (Dwayne) is going on the Legends cruise that same week. Maybe Dwayne will see this thread and the two of you can discuss more of the ship's itinerary and such.
Good luck. And, again, I'm sorry.

Actually A'ndrea, I looked back through some threads and found that IC is going. Here is what he said:
quote:
Since you have the 10 months. Consider going on the CCL Legend with us. It is Oct. 28 from Tampa. I know is not the fancy digs, but it would be a fun time at the ports and Dinner
He just probably hasn't seen this thread yet but I have a conflict with that time since we will be opening our restaurant and even though I would be happy to meet Dwayne, I just can't go. Puts the kaibash on the the 7 day out of Miami too.
Well I hope others are going from here, it should be a nice, short little cruise.
