I was great! One thing I found interesting was how "the ship can turn on dime", so to speak. It just pivots in place! And, we watched from our balcony as the Pride---ever go gently---settled against the pier. Amazing how the capt. could "park" such a huge vessel so carefully and precisely.

Sounds like fun. We would like to make the Caribbean our next destination. Razz We saw those "police escort boats." Even here in Los Angeles, we were escorted in and out. Speaking of police, another odd sighting: In Mexico there are full out military guards (with VERY BIG rifles) there to greet the ship. They were present and close proximinity to the docks the entire time we were there. FELT GREAT having them there, even though there was no hint of trouble! I felt safer on shore there than I do in Los Angeles everyday! We saw them everywhere we went. Even a small town about 50 miles away. (We were there on a shore excursion). They were always friendly and took pictures with my daughters!

Sorry, J. about the "stick out tongue" character. I thought it just smiled! Oh, man. Beg your pardon!

That would be a starboard side extended balcony right? I am booked for this cruise on Oct 1st and have a GTY 8I extended balcony....(hoping for an upgrade, but it's not looking good.) Am wondering if I should have just booked the starboard side cabin I wanted. Looking at the route, it appeared the best scenery would be from Starboard when arriving into ports.
Been on the Pride before in the Caribbean...Very nice ship.

Have to be honest with you. I don't know one side -by name-from the other! :-) But...If you were standing facing the front of the ship...we were on the right side, near the front. We could stand on our balcony and look up into the part of the ship where the captain and the navigators operate. And our balcony did stick out beyond the life boats so we could see from the front clear to the back. It was cool.

Yes that would be starboard....an easy way to remember the difference is that PORT side and LEFT both are 4 letter words. By the way, did you happen to notice what the beverage choices were in the buffet area? Carnival cruises in the past have had punch which my hubby likes mixed with "The Captain" (Morgan),but one of our cruises didn't and I was hoping that that was not a new trend.

Hi, Pride is my favorite ship. I hate they moved it out there, but good for you. How did you like the wonderful artwork? Are the decks still slippery around the wet tile? Carnival can run all the older ships and build new bigger ones.. But in my opinion the Pride is the Crown Jewel of their fleet. Hope you had a great cruise.

Yes the Pride has a different air (less Las Vegas more elegant...not that there is anything wrong with Vegas over the top glitz...my 3 favorite vacations are Cruises, Las Vegas and Aruba)

5 Points: Which 2 nights were the formal nights on your cruise? I am assuming #1 was the second day, (Monday, the first fun-day at sea)....and it doesn't seem logical that #2 would be the very next day, even though it too is a fun-day at sea. And I can't remember ever having a formal night the LAST day at sea (Sat), when it is the day before we arrive back in port. So I am trying to figure out if it will be Thursday, Mazatlan or Friday, Cabo San Lucas. Do you recall?

The drinks in the buffet area were water, lemonade, punch, coffee and tea.

Thanks. At lunch one day, my youngest daughter wistfully commented that she hated uor cruise EVER had to end! The artwork really nice. We weren't tramatized by the statue of "David". If that type of thing bothers anyone, they better stsy out of any major museum!!! Lol

We did not visit David's Supper Club. My daughters fell in love with our wait staff Arnold (from the Phillipines) and Ying (from China) and wanted to go to the Normandie every night.

Fivepoints, Sounds like you had a great time. I've convinced my girlfriend, my brother and sister-n-law, and our kids to go on this cruise on Sept 10th. There's going to be 9 of us in 3 different cabins facing off the back of the ship. All the kids are 21-28 and they want to dance on board the ship and hit a lot of the shore excursions. Is there anything you wish you had done, that you might have missed out on? Also, did you take advantage of the early boarding in L.B., and if so, are the food places open for lunch? PS- I saw your photo's, outstanding pics.
