allmost forgot, if you plan on using a credit card while traveling abroad make sure to call the company and let them know. a lot of card companies try to prevent theft fraud by deactivating cards that are being used in foriegn countries without prior approval. It just takes a minute to call and give them your travel dates and will save you from the hassle of dealing with a dead credit card when you need to use it.

Do you have to use a credit card on the ship? I would much rather pay cash and not have to worry about a credit card bill.(I have the cash set aside for the trip already). Any comments or suggestions

You cannot use cash for each purchase, as one would do in the normal course of life. You have to use your cruise card to buy virtually everything on the ship. In other words, you can't pay for a drink with money. They simply cannot accept it at the bars. Only the casino takes cash as payment. However, you can put a cash deposit down to cover those charges, instead of a credit card. They will take your cash deposit when you board the ship, and will let you know pronto if it runs short.

The other option besides the cash deposit it to use a credit card to back your cruise card and then pay cash onto your account a few times during the cruise. This both lets you keep track of your spending and if you have a $0 balance at the end of the cruise, then no charge to the card...

Well today was sooo hard at work! I did have so much going on but I'm so excited and everyone kept asking me "Oh you must be so excited!!" Drove me Batty by the end of the day. I work with all guys and they hang out with my husband, so they were all asking about him also. Yippeee He is finally home from Toronto (He has meetings there all the time)

Sherri and Peny, Thanks for your thoughts, I'm just screaming inside with anticipation and excitement! YIPPEEEE Big Grin I hope you two have wonderful cruises too! Try not to drink too much or you may kinda feel the way I plan on (Ok just one night of fun!!! ) Cool Frown

Have a great one all and THANKS FOR THE TIP on cash! I purchased all that American money for the trip so I wouldn't have to pay anything on the credit card, and I find out just a few days before that I didn't need most of it! heheheh I guess I asked every question under the sun except that one! For some strange reason I thought I could stroll up to the bar with a cool wad of cash, drop it down and have me some fun..... Guess I'll be dropping my cruise card instead! hahahah ThumbUp

Wise2U thank you for this bit of advise. Our credit card companies were thankful to me for doing this today, after reading your message. They said they sometimes will get a "trigger" on their systems, and then freeze the account then the next time you try to use it, it won't let you. Then you have to call them to tell them where your at, and why. What a pain.... They said its not always, but I'm still glad to be prepared. I gave them my dates and where I was going. Thanks again.

Ok well hello all!

MrOctober, Definitely, come on the Victory on the 21st, and I'll buy you a few drinks! hehehe Cool

Sherri, I better take the advice of Wise2U and phone Visa Tomorrow just in case. Actually I'll have to phone both Credit Cards (Just in case of Octobers big loss at the casino....)

I'm packed and ready to go. Just got done work at 7pm and Dale and I had to hit the local Walmart, and then drop off the 3 yr olds, Blankie.... Ok I'm kinda missing him now as he is staying with Nana and Grampa til we get back and she told us not to ring the door or anything, Drop all his stuff outside because he was lonely, wanted to come home and demanded that Daddy pick him up. Trust me, I'll get over it! ha Big Grin

Well back to getting the last minute stuff ready!

See you all when I get back!

I am glad I checked back in here. You guys and Gals have reminded me of things I need to do next week!

Call credit card company, Travelers Checks, Pay bills way ahead of due dates. Last trip to Wally World list. Change oil in car and rotate tires. Re-confirm pet person, and the list goes on.

I can see why Tracy feels that way, and trying to finish up stuff at work. The reward is well worth it though Big Grin

Hope everyone has a wonderful cruise Wave
