This is going to sound like a really wacky question. I'm totally weird and terrified of heights. Because of my fear of heights, sometimes certain staircases scare the bejeebies out of me. Here's my question: If you have your life jacket with you and know what time the drill is, can you just position yourself at your station a few minutes before the drill or do you have to go back to your room and then fight everyone while running down the stairs?
The staircases are not scary....I would be more worried about being in the middle of the ocean, just kidding I just got back from the Celebration and it was fantastic....I want to go back!!
Here is the way to accomplish what you are asking. Go to your muster station early (say 10 minutes or so) and ask the crew which way the folks will be taken to their life boat stations. Situate yourself right by the exit doorway so that you are one of the first to make your way to the life boats. You should end up against the wall so that you can lean on it during the drill. When it comes time to make you way back to your cabin, hang around the deck until it clears and you will avoid the crowding on the stairs.
I always wait until I am the last one to go to the life boats, then I can be the first up the stairs and avoid the hassle.
Have fun with it.
