They shouldn't be ship specific, but cruise line specific. I don't have chips, I have some coins from Princess. They work in all the ships in their fleet. Since you're sailing on Carnival again, you should be ok. Of course, it would be a good excuse to book another cruise on that ship
If I recall correctly I do think the ships names are on the chips but I would think that they could be traded or cashed in at the casino cage. Hopefully they will respond to you. Should they say something stupid like mail them back to us for a credit not sure I would go for that one. That ranks up there with mailing in your winning lottery ticket. Not gonna happen!
I hope they will honor them. Maybe they will if the chips are not too beat up from being washed and dryed for authentication. I have used left over Dollar slot tokens on a different ship before, that is a different thing though.
Good luck with this.

Finally got my answer from the Ocean Players Club. They said the chips are good on any Carnival ship also on any Princess ship. Just no good on other lines.
So, I guess we'll have a headstart on winnings (!) in December!
Would that I could but, alas, they belong to dear old dad. Think you would have to pry them out of his cold, dead fingers! He'll be shuffling them till December... though!
Sometimes found money can be the luckiest of all. Don't you love it when you find a quarter on the floor of the casino and put it in the machine beside it and win something?
Another one I have encountered, is sitting down at a machine and looking up to find someone had left credits on it.

Regarding SanDee's post about the ship names on the chips -
On my cruises with Carnival (I had to book NCL for my Alaska trip), I have seen chips from different Ships in the Casino's - chips from the Victory on the Triumph. As long as they are from the same cruise line, it shouldn't matter.
