Well, lets see. Around 1985 you had the Holiday, Celebration, and the Jubilee. After that, I believe it is broke down into: Fantasy class Destiny class Conquest class Spirit class Anyone, please feel free to correct me as I am not sure about this.

actually "Carnival Destiny" is somewhat different from "Carnival Triumph" and "Carnival Victory", lacking one top accommodations deck.
"Carnival Splendor" will be a "new" class for Carnival, being based on sister company Costa Crociere's "Costa Concordia" and "Costa Serena" which are themselves based on the "Conquest"-class, which is an enlarged "Destiny"-class (or rather "Triumph"-class).
Thank you Raoul for the correction. I was afraid that I was a little off on my response. p.s. It just dawned on me that your name contains every vowel in the alphabet.

Sorry, I have to disagree with Raoul on this one. I have never heard Carnival refer to a "Triumph" class. Yes, the Destiny is slightly different. But all the sales information that I receive from Carnival District Sales Managers has the Destiny, Triumph, and Victory listed as one class of ship. "Destiny Class".

Well, I am not getting in between that. Just adding my half cent worth. The Doc's post was accurate about classifications. And I thought Raoul was just making a clarification within the class from a ship standpoint. I think Jan is also correct that Carnival does not use the term Triumph class. However, of the sister ships these are the only ones not shown in the CCL brochure on the same page together.
So I think everyone was right
I think I think too much..

you are correct - Carnival uses the term "Destiny"-class only. However, that is nothing but a marketing statement. Marketing usually simplifies things in order not to cause confusion because people have to remember more things than at all necessary.
Another example is Royal Caribbean's "Vision"-class, which does actually not consist of six sister ships but actually of three pairs of sister ships ("Legend" & "Splendour", "Enchantment" & "Grandeur", "Rhapsody" & "Vision") which are far from being identical to the other pairs and which were even built by two different yards.
So, from a marketing & sales perspective, you are correct - from the technical perspective, I am.
