Hi everyone!
We are down in the 70's...soon it will be just 8 weeks!!!! We have been counting down since March, how about everyone else?
By the way, has anyone else used the airport parking instead of the cruise pier parking? I checked it out and it is only $54.40 for the week! and they provide a FREE SHUTTLE to the pier! It's $10 more for the covered parking but both lots are locked and patrolled because it's the airport. If we end up driving, we'll probably do it as it saves $30 bucks.
Has anyone been shopping yet for the cruise? I am eagerly looking forward to the end of summer sales. Beginning to think of the necessities we like to take, and catching them on sale.
Any new cruise news guys??????
Well, time for beddie bye...been a LONG Day. Roll Eyes

Hey guys this is Charley!! Well I just thought I would share some really exciting news with you guys. My dad is a supervisor for a restaurant and the president of his company donated some money to the Aviation Hall of Fame so they gave him 8 tickets to attend this black tie affair so we got to go to that event tonight. It was so much fun because not only did we get to meet the people that were inducted but we got to sit with Charles Duke which was an astronaunt on Apollo 16. He told us all about his experience with walking on the moon. We had to arrive at 4:30 to take pictures and then the ceremony started at 7-10:30. This was once in a lifetime experience. Unfourtunately(s/p) my husband had to work so instead I took my best friend. When we were leaving the ceremony she said make sure Phil (my husband) has to work next year just in case we would get to go again.

Well now back to thinking about the cruise we are all so excited especially me because I only have 1 more day of vacation until it's cruise time. I have already bought all my clothes for the cruise and this year my husband told me I can't pack as much b/c every year I pack way to much stuff and I don't wear half of them. So this year I am going to pack less stuff. Well I am going to bed b/c it has been a very long day especially standing in heels for so long.

Hi Charley,
Wow, that sounds like a once in a lifetime event. I would go on the Space Shuttle in a heartbeat! Way too cool.
Through the cruises we've done, I have noted I sometimes use only half my clothes, and what makes Carnival so good is the washing facility. RCI, whom we've cruised with mostly, does not have self serve and I refuse to allow someone else to wash my undies!!!! I will definitely take less because you can go into the wash room about half-way through the cruise and wash some things to wear again, or just to take most of your clothes home clean! Wink that makes it nice unpacking. But, you are not alone because there's always a last minute thing I think I can't go without, like the "other white top" or "the different black pants"...so my philosphy is, we've got a WHOLE SUITCASE.. FILL 'ER UP!!!! It rolls, so what's the problem? ThumbUp

See ya later.
Kim

Hey one and all,

I agree with your hubby Charley. The last cruise I took, I packed way too many shorts and shirts and said to myself, "Self" what the hell were you thinking?? This year I am going to plan out as best I can to avoid the over-pack syndrome. That way I can carry all the excess that Debi brings on. LOL!!!

Charley, since I am an aviation buff, LOVE PLANES, I think your experience was awesome. What an opportunity!!

75-days guys!!!! and I'm still looking for the propeller hat.

Hugs,

Bill and Debi

Hi everyone,
Enough said about the packing lol~~! You can always take along one of the collapsable cases to bring home those extra clothes to make room for the cruise prizes.
We are at 74 days and counting folks. Lets talk some about our gathering. The best way to meet up early on board is to remember the cabin numbers and call. When we get about 20 days or so out, we need to make a list of all cabins and post it, then we can call or come by to say Hi, if we haven't met up before. Hopefully we'll get more into our group before then. The more the merrier.
I am still waiting for Carnival to call me and upgrade us to the 9A category. there are still 5 or 6 of them available. Even though we're next to one, it would be cool to have one. I would reaLly love a suite, how sweet it would be, but I won't fork out the $$ until 2008 for our 30th anniversary. Or, hubby will not until 2008!!!HA, ha.
So how is the weather where you are Billy and Charley? We are HOT AND DRY!~~~. Having severe thunderstorms here in SC, lots of lightning and hail. But has everyone noted we have no tropical weather to speak of???? kinda scarey in lieu of the predictions.
Have a good night all. It's time to watch Emeril. ThumbUp

Big Grin HI all,
Is it time to cruise yET??? How is everyone today...are you hot, too? It is frying here in SC, at about 97 degrees and no rain in site.
I saw a report on the news last night stating that if the outside temp was 93 degrees F, inside a car in 15 minutes it would be 130-172 degrees inside the car!!! Can you believe that, and some crazy people leave their pets and KIDS in a car in the heat!
But, we are steadily winding down and soon will be in the 60's, which cannot come soon enough.
Where is the party to be, guys and gals? I'm ready for my Margarita! Frozen in a pineapple! Lol

Well, you can catch my butt in the sports bar. I think it is called the Bronx Bar on the ship. Afterall, it is Sunday, and football will be on, so you know where Debi and I will be at 12:00????

Kimmy, as a bartender, I can tell you that by having a margartita frozen, you lose 20% alcohol. Put that baby on the rocks and top it with some Grand Marinier. Yea buddy.

Weather in Florida is hotter than hell, but since this is our rainy season, we have rain every day at 4:00. The humidity is what kills you down here. Today it was 94 degrees and 86% humidity. WHEW!! And they are replacing our air at work. So I got to work in a 90-degree bar.

Cheers,
Billy

Hey guys it's really hot here in Ohio. Today was in the high 90's but luckily my parents have a boat that is where I spent my day today, got a little sunburn but at least I will be tan for the cruise.
Did anyone see where the Royal Caribbean ship turned on its' side the other day. Several people were hurt pretty bad.

Hi Charley and guys,
It was the Crown Princess of the Princess lines. The rudder stuck but the ship righted itself when they cut power. still it listed 12 degrees to starboard while they were heading back to Port Canaveral. I think a lot of folks were hurt by glass, and things falling off the shelves like the TV's. I KNOW IT WAS SCAREY.
The friend who is sailing with us, called me, and said was it still ok to go! Confused I said, it's still safer than crossing the street!!!. It was just a freaky thing that happened, no more no less. ThumbUp

They have been telling on the news here for people to stay indoors because the UV rays are so bad. ANd with the trouble in Lebanon, who knows. Armageddon it may be.
And Billy, I got it mixed up, I really want a Pina Colada in a pineapple. it will taste much better.
Charley, we have been getting in my sisters pool, but it has been so hot, we wait until about 6pm, and the water temp last night was 90 degrees!!!. whew, hotter than the hot tub! Red Face

You guys keep cool, we're heading off to Beaufort, SC Friday for the Water Festival. Nephew has a new house, and can't wait to see those twins who turn 8 months old on Sat.
See ya,
Kimmy

Kim,

I have not found the bini hat yet. Confused

As far as a drink to have on board, the Funship Specials are usually pretty good and potent (lot of rum) for a pre-sail buzz. I am getting so excited for this vacation. I'm going to start packing next weekend. LOL.

Hi Billy,
Packing next weekend??? Whew, hope you have plenty of clothes..ha ha. But we're getting down pretty quick to less than 2 months...sure took long enough. I am beginning to gather some things, and thinking through my packing list. I have a general one on my computer, but according to length of cruise, etc. and where, I change it. But I think it's NEVER too early to start planning. Except for our first cruise for which we were definitely cruise NEWBIES, we have always had a great time. Partly because of pre-planning, especially about getting into port city, excursions, etc. which takes the headaches away.
By the way, have you and Debi planned on any excursions yet? Lester and I are thinking on the Jeep trip which looks like fun. If our friends decide to do something different, do you and Debi want to go? The jeeps are for 4 and you drive yourself. Since you're such a wild and crazy guy, we'll let you drive!
Anywho, it's just 62 days, and I have been working on my tan at my sister's pool. I usually don't get much and end up burning, but maybe I'll be ahead this year.
Have a great week at work. Tell Debi Hi.
