Please help me I am so nervous I just found out my cabin location. We are on the rivera deck towards the front of the ship,in a quad. I heard that you should try to get in the middle of the ship. Is the rivera deck in the middle I heard it is 10 floors underneath the rivera deck. PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE THIS OUT.
Nita, Where are you getting that information from? No, there is not 10 decks below the Riviera deck. Some people feel being midship of a deck is more stable. You have to realize these ships are huge. They have stabilizers. I have been in the very front, in the very back, in the midship, on the bottom deck, on the higher decks. I personally have never felt much difference no matter where my cabin was. The only thing I noticed about being in the front on the bottom, is I could hear the ropes and anchors when they would come into port. I think your making yourself nervous uneccessarily.
Nita, you can look at deck plans on the various ships if you go to www.carnival.com. It's a great site where you can get information on the ships, excursions, staterooms, etc. Yuo can click on the various ships, cruises, etc.
relax. While your cabin might not be near midships, it being located on a lower deck rather than a higher deck is good and not bad as far as stability is concerned.
Riviera Deck is also clearly above the water line, so there are at least some 30 foot or so below you before the ship's keel is reached. Your cabin is most definitely not at the bottom of the ship even if it is on the lowest passenger deck.
First cruise we took we were on Riveria Deck. It was fine. Last year we were on Empress and it was great, but only because of less traveling on the elevator.
