Is it necessary to bring a jacket or sweater to wear at night onboard? Does it get cool at night in the Caribbean?

Hey Mawmaw

You did not mention the ship or where you are going aka western caribbean or Nassau, etc. You will not need a sweater or jacket because the weather will be hot 85-95 depending on the area. The ladies sometimes wear a sweater for the shows or events on the ship because of the AC.

Hi!

I bring a sweater along not only because of the A/C, but also because we like to walk on deck "under the stars" and it can get cool in the evenings. Even if the temperature is warm, the movement of the ship plus any breeze can make it a little chilly.

If you are going in the next month or two the ship's AC would be the only reason for a sweater.

I usually take along a windbreaker or large long sleeve shirt to wear over. I have cruised this week from Jacksonville and Port Canaveral and the last evening the last 2 years has gotten pretty cool and breezy on the decks. But that is further north for most.

Hey Islandcruz

I live in the Cape Canaveral area and we will have a cold snp for the next 2 days. I believe they said our area is going to be 65 for a low and 79 for a high. With N Myrtle Beach being somewhat cooler than that right now I think you will find that when you get here it is 80 feeling like 90. You will need a windbreaker for your trip back to South Carolina. Have a great time.

Thanks, Cold snap here too, had to bring my chili pepper plants in! Low 38 tonight and was 87 a few days ago!

Ceemonster, I will be staying at Marriott on Richard Petty Blvd. in Daytona. I usually stay in Daytona Shores. Do you have a guestimate of driving time to PC? I was thinking 1.5 hours or so.

I better keep this weather related, so I am wearing jeans from SC, then putting shorts on in Fl Smile

Thanks Florida board members Wave

Hey IslandCruz

It should take you 1-1.5 hours depending on how fast you drive and the time of day you leave. You "will" have great weather on your cruise. Right now the seas are a little rough so read your newspaper when you get to Daytona but I am sure you plan to visit the beach when you get there. So you will see for yourself. I used to live in Daytona Shores in the Oceans 7 building.

Thanks ceemonster,

Will take your advice. I like Daytona Shores, but no Marriott brand and my friend works for them and gets me a good rate. When they worked for Cendant we would stay at the Days Inn near the pier. Really nice area. It usually does not get this cold here right now.

Best Regards,
IslandCruz

It is odd for it to be this cool in Daytona area. It normally chills down around Halloween. But not this chilled down. You will have great weather on your cruise. Are you just going to Nassau or are you going to Half Moon Cay also?

No, heading to Key West and Cozumel again this year. Last year we ended up in Nassau and St.Thomas due to Wilma. 30's again tonight, this is December weather for even up here!

You will have great weather. It will start to warm up and be hot by the time you leave port. It was very comfy here today. But it promises to get warmer in 2 days
