While we were in Cozumel a couple of years ago, we rented a jeep and rode around the island, about halfway around we stopped at a little beachside bar..as we sat there drinking a Corona, we looked down the beach and low and behold...nudists..lol....of course the people running the little bar enjoyed our gawks..they even offered to let us use the binoculars!! I can't even tell you the name of the place, but the island is not that big, so if you start driving and stop for something cool to drink at each local bar, I am sure you will find one...

I do know the bar that you're talking about, but will not mention the name and here's why.
Even though I live here, I still feel that I am a "guest" in this country as are all of the tourists that come here. In the same way that we expect people from other countries to adopt our ethics and moral standards when they come to live in the United States, visitors to Mexico or any country should respect that country's morals.
Mexicans do not sunbathe topless or nude and consider it to be in very poor taste when others come to their country and do so. While they are a polite people and will not confront the visitors, that does not mean that you have not offended them.
The bar that the poster is trying to think of encourages drunk Americans (particularly women) to take their clothes off because it brings business to their bar and provides great entertainment for the guys that work there.
Ross, Thank God when we were there it was in the off season, and there were only a couple of people there. We really did not even know that there were nude beaches in the area, we only stopped to get a drink. Also, they definetly did not encourage me to take my clothes off!! Reckon they thought I was to old??? 45 at the time..lol
