I am taking my 2 year old daughter on a carnival weekend cruise to Nassau. I need an easily accessible beach ( so maybe we could come back to the ship for a nap) and would also really like to take her on a horse buggy ride. Any suggestions?
THanks so much!

Most of the lines tell you to avoid the horse/buggy tour. It is a bit of a rip off in my estimation. Also did this with my younger daughter who is horse crazy. I stay on the ship in Nassau. It is my least favorite port of call (although Montego Bay may ace it out for last place if I really thought about it).

My feeling is that taking a 2 YO to the beach should be a short stop. They don't tolerate the sun and heat well at that age. Do something where you can get to either the ships or other air-conditioned facility if she needs a break from the sun and fun.

cheers, Neil

There is nothing that is close to the ship such that you could quickly return for a nap. I'd look into a day pass at one of the Cable Beach hotels or at the Hotel Riu on Paradise Island. That way you have a beach, pool, bar and food service available, and most importantly an air-conditioned refuge when you need it.

Welcome to Cruise-Chat!

They have in the past offered passes for Atlantis to see the aquarium. Not the pools and slides though. I don't know the current price/availability. There is a free beach beside it. I would be very careful about the sun on a 2 year old. It is really intense down there. If you decide to go over, take a taxi, and not the water taxi!
