Toni (and Tom), You have a number of choices in Nassau and it really depends on what kind of beach trip you would like. You can take a taxi to Cable Beach (about 7 miles from downtown). This is the hotel strip, but the beach is public and offers jet-skis, parasailing, banana boat rides, etc. Another option is head to Paradise Beach (either by a short cab ride, or take the water taxi) on Paradise Island (same amenities as Cable Beach). Cabbage Beach (actually an extension of Paradise) is a bit quieter(the opposite end from Atlantis). Finally, you can take one of the scheduled ferries from Paradise Island ferry terminal over to Blue Lagoon - They have 7 exceptional beaches on the island. We went to Paradise Beach ! It was so pretty. The water was turbulent. It never stopped churning. I'd go back again! It was warm, and turquoise in color....The sand was clean and white..... There were a couple of life guards nearby. Toni ( Tom's wife)
