We went to Palm Beach last year when we were in Aruba. It was easy to get to, the cab driver dropped us off between the Rui and the Sheraton, and we walked down to the beach. There were good ammenities, nice clean beach, not much snorkeling. I haven't done a beach day in Curacao, just some sail/snorkel trips that were nice. There's a lot of good shopping in Curacao and some good bars to have a drink and watch the locals near the dock. The tour to the Curacao factory is a good tour as well. Best wishes and have a great cruise!

Aruba has some of the best snorkeling in the Carribean. You can take a cab to Baby Beach, where the snorkeling is great. It depends on what time of year you go there. I have been there in May and the water was much calmer than when I went in January and March. El Gaucho is one of the best restaurants on the island and well worth a lunch. If you rent a jeep, you can tour the entire island. One side of the island is all beaches and hotels and the other side is wild, dessert like, with only a road to follow, which can get pretty tricky. It is very beautiful and natural, and you don't swim on that side! Shopping is rather expensive in Aruba.

It has been several years since I have been to Curacao. We went to the Sea Aquarium and really enjoyed it. Here is a link.

The last time we were in Curacao we wanted to rent a scooter & the guy wanted to hold our credit card for security. No way! Eek Maybe things have changed this year.

I heard the northern coast of aruba is too rough and shark infested to swim in. (from a bar owner in aruba) we hung out near the pier, looked loudly for Natalie Holloway in the tourist malls, and went to the casino visible from the dock...penny slots and free drinks, good air conditioning....Curaco had a great market within walking distance of the pier, best island for wooden crafts. We did a great snorkel excursion with a sunken tugboat, very nice even though seas were choppy everywhere else that day.
