Anyone know of good companies to go parasailing in Cozumel? I'm thinking about going on my own instead of through the cruise line. So far I've looked at Cozumel Watersports and also this one.
Also, is Cozumel safe to do on your own, or should I stick with the ship's excursions?

Michael- Cozumel is very safe to do on your own. If you want you can even get away with waiting until you get there. Go past the vendors at the end of the pier and go to where the taxis wait. Then talk to the taxi drivers, you will quickly find someone who works for a para sailing outfit and you can arrange to do it right there. I have heard of the Cozumel Watersports before, so if you are not as adventurous as to try to find one once you dock, they may be a good alternative.
Just be aware that their liability laws and insurance requirements are not the same as here in the states. But having said that, many people go sailing there, so it is probably safe.

Thanks Jim. I was looking at various websites, and another thing I was interested in doing was Mr. Sancho's Beach Club for the horseback riding there, and it states that they have watersports there, but does anyone know if parasailing is one of them?

The parasailing is great....anywhere! We did the horseback riding through the cruiseship in Cozamel and it was not good....those poor horses were skinny and it was rocky...and raining which didn't help them from slipping...although I heard the horseback riding on the beach is great....
