When you are travling as a single parent and with teens, how do handle table assignments/requests? Do you ask to be seated with other single parents, families with teenagers or on your own? What have been your experiences in this area? do you get assigned to other tables with families? Do you ever find that people do not want to sit with you and your kids?

When you make your reservation, on most cruise lines, you will be asked if you wish to sit at a small table or large. As a single parent with teenagers I would recommend a large table as this is just one more opportunity for you to meet other adults. If possible, you will usually be seated with other single parents traveling w/children or familes that have teenagers. Once onboard, if you discover this is not the case - then you can always seek out the maitre'd and request a change.
