I just broke up with my gf, I want to cruise. Whats the best type of cruise for a single male in his late 20's?

your best bet now is a 7 day or less to a warm climate; Caribbean and Mexican Riviera.

When I was single I loved the three day cruises.

I've never done a three-day cruise but I have heard they are basically 7 days of activity that happens over 3 days. That would have been right up my alley then!

I cruise alone all the time well... I took two women with me on sepreate cruises and both ended up the two worst cruises Ive taken.
couldnt stand the complaining ...like
"I dont want to go to the Casino"
" I have to do my hair and make up I'll be ready in an hour"
"we have been sitting in the hot sun for over an hour"
"sex?.. Now.. It's only 11:00 am"
"sex? ..Now...someone may come up on the deck and see us "
"lets go shopping"
"it's 10:30 pm lets go to Bed"
" she's just going to braid my hair Ill be done in an hour"
"another beer? youve already had two today so far"
"No!! the shower is too small for both of us at once"
"i have to make the bed and clean up before the stewart comes"
"the topless deck is for perverts"
" I look Fat in That Bikini Ill wear this one piece with a cover up"
"Don't do that Here....I think theres cameras in the Elevators"
" I dont like the way the Girls were Looking at you when you were singing"
" I just want to Cuddle"
"Theres not enough room up there by the Port Holes to do that"

The list can go On and On.... Going on my 6th cruise January 25th and going alone... Booked another one for October 13th of 2007 on the Liberty By myself as well.

There is no words to describe the freedom of Cruiseing alone!!!
there are plenty of singles on board to play with and dance with then go back to being alone doing what you want to do when you want to do it...this past October on the Sensation (4 night)I just didnt feel like getting off the ship at either port so I didnt It was my choice and I had a great cruise just hanging around the ship for the whole cruise...you can do whatever you want !!!! It's a wonderful Life...lol
Do a four day cause the quick three days is just one day too short. youll just be getting used to it and then it's over...the extra 4th night is just enough, Im doing my first 8 day in Oct ...Just hope i have enough Casino money to hold out that long....

Raffles, me, my sister, mother and a couple of single friends went on Royal Carribean last year and had a BLAST! Met a bunch of other singles on there also. We went around spring break as we are again this year, that is probably a good time for you to go as well, lot's of singles.

Going on the Pride of Hawaii on 2/12/07. Looking to meet single woman ahead of time that are also going on this cruise.

There were plenty of single women on the SENSATION this past weekend so Ken if your Cruiseing in Feb around Valentines Day there are probably going to be quite a few. I find it better to just let things happen on their own and not go looking. I met a real nice woman last week traveling with her family (she was single) we had a blast.
doing "pre set up's" to meet on board can be uncomfortable for one or the other once you meet.
there is many to choose from to hang out with and have a great time.

it's like being with an old girlfriend for a mercy date,,,could be fun.. BUT do you want her around for more than 2 minuets after your done?
Just imagine all the meaningless talk and other stuff you'll be stuck with for the whole cruise time.
and if it's not a chick? there is no way I would share a cabin with a dude. snoring, belching, all that from two of ya's?
Plus it's kind of gay to be sharing a cabin with some guy you dont even know.

all in all it's worth paying the full tab to cruise alone.

Mr. O is right. You do not want to take "potluck roomie" on a cruise, and even if the roomie is cool, what if you meet a new friend and want to spend some time with her?

If singlescruise won't answer the phone, look at the ships their group will be on (from webpage) and book on the same ship. There will be singles on all cruises, but this group makes the odds better to meet someone you like.

Either way, after your first solo cruise in a solo room, you will look back and agree it was the best money you ever spent.

With all the nut cases running around the world today, I'd never tell someone to go ahead and share a cabin with someone they don't know.

Raffles - this is not a good idea and as tncruiseman says - you'll look back and agree the extra money was worth it.
