Hello!

My fiance and I just booked our honeymoon with Celebrity. It's the 12 night cruise to Berlin, Tallin, Copenhagen, Helsinki, St. Petersburg and Stockholm. We have a few questions and we would really appreciate it if people could help us out! Smile

1.) We are a little concerned about the cost of the excursions since Celebrity won't be listing the tours and prices until a couple months befor the sail date. In general, what are the costs? I know that we have to been in a tour group of some sort in order to see St. Petersburg, but I have no clue what to expect pricewise. There is little information out there on the web.

2.) Besides St. Petersburg, is it possible to see the other cities without having to pay for an excursion? I'm curious as to how far away ports are from the actual cities. We'd like to save money and tour the the cities ourselves.

3.) We will be docking in Warnemunde, Germany for a day. When I look at a map, it looks like Berlin isn't very close. Is it possible to get there without paying for an excursion? I assume that we would have to take a taxi or something if not. What is the cost for that?

Any information really would help us out. Thank you in advance!!! Smile

Just until you hear from others who have done the Baltic Cruise on Celebrity, I thought I could just give you a "little" information on some of the ports. We did a similar cruise on Norwegian this past summer. You are in for such a treat. Copenhagen can be done on foot or with city buses. The Little Mermaid, palace square, etc. can easily be walked, and then you can take a bus or taxi wherever you want to go.

We did hop on/hop off bus in Helsinki.

For Tallin get a good walking guide and do that one on foot.

For Stockholm we did a bus tour just for the Vasa Museum, but again you can do that one with a city bus on your own.

The people who did the train trip to Berlin from Warnemunde raved about it -- but it was an all day event and they went quickly from one highlight to the other. We stayed at the town and enjoyed the streets and boardwalk area. Be sure you're on deck for the sail away. It's a wonderful experience.

Hope this helps.

I did that Cruise and it is wonderful, remember in St Petersburg you can not get off the ship and just walk around. You must be on a tour, be it private or cruisline. You docked in a shipyard anyway with a good 2 mile or so ride to get out of the shipyard. You need 2 days to see St Petersburg, we did a private tour (well worth it) Us a driver and guide for 2 days. You can go out to Celebrity's web site and see some the excursions now that will help you. I just was there and read one on Tallin and Warnemunde...we docked in Rostock and right there next to the ship was the train to Berlin it was a 2 1/2 hour train ride to get to Berlin.
If you go to the find button on this web page and search Denrus you will find a lot of information if you are intersted on a Private tour in St Petersburg. Hope this helps !
