Very intrigued by the 5-Night Pacific NW offering on the Mercury. Rates are starting from $475 for an inside cabin. Has anyone done one of thse short coastal cruises? Thought this might be a good way to sample Celebrity at a great rate.

I am about to take the Pacific Coast cruise this October on the Mercury. I too would like to know if anyone else out there has taken the cruise and what advice they could give me. This is my first cruise. Thanks
We just got off the "Mercury" for the 5 day cruise out of "Seattle." It was our first "Celeb." cruise. We're glad we tried it. There were good/bad as in every cruise. We made the best of it and are glad we had the experience. Hope this helps... Great embarkation/debarkation, very organized. A quick tip.. run to the cab line as soon as you get your luggage after debark., very long...people cutting in line. Staff..Incredible! Always friendly, eager to please. We spent the extra $$, had a Sky Suite w/conc. service and worth every penney. Our butler "Stanley" was incredible! The ship...We had read previous reports in need of dry dock so were expecting the "worse." Pleasantly surprised! Yes, she does have some wear/tear you'll notice on elevators, fabrics etc. but for a ship that old she was very clean/well maintained. Heard others complain about worn cabins and a sewage odor. Ours was "great." Very clean/no odor.. The not so good for us, was "entertainment/food." The food was hit/miss. Some great dishes, some not. Heard complaints from other passengers re: quality of food wasn't the same. It was our first on Celeb. so couldn't compare. We have sailed other lines and it was about par w/other cruise lines. The entertainment was very lacking for us. Same bands, same music, same lounges. We're in our late 40's, early 60's but have heard enough "big band" and "Frank Sinatra" music to last us awhile. The bands were good, just got tired of the same routine. The "Celebrity Theatre" was good the first night but ended there for us. If, you love opera and broadway shows you'll love the Celebrity Theatre. The singers were hit/miss. However, the costumes were "incredible." We enjoyed the "cinema" they have on board. Not much variety for in cabin television. We aren't drinkers and don't spend much time in the casinos. We go to meet new/interesting people, the entertainment on board, the excursions/ports and of course...food. Dress warm....the weather was cold. We wore our jackets/sweaters the entire time. Just missed the rain that was supposed to hit the day we debarked(Thurs.) and for several days to come??? We're glad we sailed Celeb. Met some wonderful people from all over. The passengers are friendly/outgoing and easy to carry a conversation with. We found most of the passengers to be in our age group and older. I wouldn't recommend it for younger couples. Met a lovely couple in their mid 20's-30's, they said they enjoyed visiting w/the passengers but would sail a different line w/younger passengers next time. They were "bored." I hope this helps and should you go "happy sailings."
