I have just reread both Tom and Nancy's reviews of the Baltic cruise on Century, on which my husband and I are booked for next June. I have heard that the ship will be in dry dock for a 55 million dollar overhaul. Does anyone know what they are actually doing? Are there any drawbacks and/or anvantages to sailing just after such a refurbishment? Also, how much does the specialty coffee cost at the Cova Cafe? Finally, if you are not an Elite C.C. member, how much does it cost to use the thallasotherapy pool?
I am going from memory on this one, but I believe that a specialty coffee drink is around $3.50 or so (I believe that is what I paid for a latte). If you are a Starbucks addict, it is well worth it.
The thallasotherapy pool is $10 per day, but they offer a cruise special at the beginning of the cruise.... take it. The T-pool is a wonderful treat and well worth the cost.
I would suspect that the benefits of sailing on a recently refurbished ship would far outweigh the drawbacks. The crew would be familiar with the ship and the ship itself. You can do a lot of stuff for 55 million bucks...VBG. it should will be awesome. Just my opinion.
