Hi everyone Smile

I've cruised with Celebrity once before (Southern Caribbean), and was pretty impressed... I'd like to cruise with them again this year, but fancy something totally different - has anyone experienced their Alaskan cruise, and would you recommend it?

thanks for your help!

Hello,

Our family went to Alaska on the Infinity four years ago and we had a very nice time. And I would recommend sailing with Celebrity to Alaska or anywhere else.

Fred (14 cruises and two more paid for for 2006)

I would definitely suggest either the Infinity or the Summit. The Mercury is a wonderful ship, it is just that the Millennium class of ships are simply excellent.

Have a great cruise!

Was on the Celebrity Infinity last year from/to Vancouver. It was EXCELLENT.

Ship is a little worn, especially in the cabins. But still nice, roomy facilities.

Get a balcony. Sitting out in the Inside Passage and watching the shore (a few meters away), wildlife and scenery so vastly different than the "sameness" of the Caribbean is worth the $$ for the balcony.

Itinerary was better than the Princess as it was an extra day and went to the Hubbard Glacier, much further north and "off the cruise routes" of all the other carriers.

Kechican and Juneau were good stops; Sitka isn't much.

Food was good but nothing like "the old days" as I think all of the food on Princess, Royal, Carnival and Celebrity has gone down hill in recent years.

Entertainment was good, but the sidewalks roll up at 11 pm because of the age of the cruisers!

We went Sept and had good weather and cheap!!

Bon voyage

Hello,

don´t get scared!
Infinity will get refurbished and dry-docked in March.

We will go on the ship to Alaska in July. Can´t wait!

Regards
Peter

We did Alaska on Mercury in 2003 sailing from San Francisco and we would do it again. We did not get to see Glacier Bay which is what my husband really wanted to see. We went the first week in May and we were the first or only cruise ship in each port. The temps were 50's & 60's which is not bad for us Chicagoans. It was sunny which was unusual enough for someone in each town to comment on. If we go again, we will include the land portion and get a balcony. It was just too cold to have one in early May.
