Taking Celebrity for 1st time. The Mercury 4/27 to Alaska. Is it like others where prepaying all tips allows one to chose any additional tipping - all my choice? Also, like others, will there be shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap? (don't want the hassle of carrying in luggage thru airports). Departing in San Fran but I suppose flying Vancouver to LAX home will be a bit of a hassle (customs etc). Thanks.

Welcome Jessica. You will have shampoo and soap. Celebrity will give you the option to put your tips on your onboard account. You are always welcome to pay extra to individual crew memebers.

Hello Jessica, welcome to Cruise-Chat!

Nothing to add to Cruise Fanatic's reply except: When I board a ship, I go to the Guest Relations Desk and request pre-paid vouchers for the gratuities. On the last day of the cruise the vouchers are delivered to your stateroom with envelopes marked for the waiter, assistant waiter,...etc. If I want, I can put more money in the envelope. I find it a little more convenient doing it that way.

I tend to work things the other way around. I leave my steward a tip of $7/day from the first day I board. This incentivizes good service and if the service is not up to snuff, the tips stop. I have never had to stop the tips while on Celebrity. Good luck!
