Hello,

Comments would be appreciated positive or negative) pertaining to the 10 and 11 day Mercury Mexican Riviera cruises from San Diego? I have read the comprehensive reviews and all of the shorter reviews but I am interested in hearing from others who have recently sailed on this ship.

Thanks,

Fred

My wife and I will be on the 3/27/2006 cruise

The CC party is the Cruise Critic party. You can visit the Cruise Critic website at http://www.CruiseCritic.com and find your way to the link for your cruise and sign up. It is a great way for folks to meet on board.

Fruby, I don't think you can go wrong on this cruise. Great ship and great ports.

Have a great cruise!

Fruby,

we went in February the 10 day cruise from San Diego to Acapulco. We enjoyed it so much that we (from Europe) come again next February. The route might not be so spectacular as compared to other cruises but the ship is great and the price is reasonable. I am sure, you will enjoy this cruise,

regards

I´ve got an email today from friends, going with us on the Radiance cruise.
They read my german review and told me how lucky we were with our Splendour cruise and what happend to friends, who have been on the Mercury, almost the same time. Here a short translation:
Friends have been on the Mercury, mexican riviera. The ship was manky, also their cabin, that they demanded, that the cabin has been cleaned a second time. They did not want to go into the cabin, before this has been done. Another passenger was totally shocked. He was on the Mercury a few months ago and could not believe how a ship could become in such a bad state since he left the ship. Other passengers said, that it doesn´t earn more than 3 ½ *. Even the food was not better than 3 ½ * and they missed their flight, because the ship had to go back to the last port after 10 hours on sea, because of a medical problem. So they arrived later than normal and missed the flight and nobody from Celebrity helped them.
Their summary: this was the last cruise with Celebrity.

We were on the Mexican cruise on Nov 21-Dec 2 and we really enjoyed it.Our food was great, the service was excellent and were not affected by the "medical emergency" that caused chaos for many other passengers trying to get home. This was our fourth cruise and our first with Celebrity and we would definitely cruise with them again.

Hello,

Thanks to all who responded. One note though, each ship must respond to medical emergencies. This is the law of the seas. All of us would respond to accidents wherever they may occur, that is, give as much assistance as we can. If I ever hear of a cruise line or ship that does not respond to a call for medical assistance on the seas I will never sail with that cruise line again. I understand that several passengers missed their flights and this can be very bothersome especially if the cruise line wasn't much help.

Happy holidays,

Fred
