The cruise tickets for this cruise show the Boarding time as 3pm with the ship leaving Port in San Diego at 9pm. Does anyone know if it is possible to check in earlier than 3pm- say 1 or 2pm so that you can avoid the rush...

We only checked in in Miami and Jacksonville.
But in both harbors it was possible to check in earlier. We checked in once at noon and one at 1 pm.
Maybe the stateroom is not ready for you, so take some things, you need for the first hours, in your handluggage and enjoy discovering the ship, until your stateroom is ready.
Even your luggage might not be there, but this has nothing to do with the early check-in.
So be prepared, that you have everything you need for the first hours in your handluggage.

I did that cruise last year and was able to board early. If you are staying in San Diego, I would get to the ship around noon and give it a try.

Thanks Tom, as always you are very helpful. I am now getting more experienced of course with the help of this chat line. I am one of those people who likes to get onboard and then I feel that my cruise has begun - even if the cabin isnt ready!.
