This is our second Celebrity cruise, the first being Western Caribbean. My wife and I are taking our son for his 21st birthday. Celebrity is an older crowd, anyone had EC cruise experience on the Millinium re: guests his age?
My experience is the shorter the cruise, the more younger people on board. We were on the Century Western Caribbean in May '04 and there were a number of older teens and 20-some year olds, but I don't know what January will be like. We were also on the Galaxy Panama Canal 12 day cruise in November that was mostly 70+ year olds; only a handful of anyone under 25.

If you were to select a cruise line by the average age of travelers, I would suggest the following:
20-42 Carnival 10-45 Royal Caribbean, NCL 28-58 Celebrity 40-75 Holland America
Of course this is just my opinion of average ages. Someone else would have a totally different take on it. There are a lot of other reasons to select one cruise line over another but my best guess would have you on RCL. He will have a great time on Millennium and if he likes beaches and activiy, almost every port has plenty of opportunities with Tortolla and Martinique being the only dull stops for my taste and probably more so for young people.
My wife and I sailed Millennium on her eastern Caribbean intinerary in 2005. There were plenty of young people and even teens on the ship who seemed to group together around the pools.
Hi Jelly: I noticed you did the Western Caribbean for your first cruise. We are doing the same thing. Any do's/dont's/must see's or pass over's you can suggest?? I know we all have different tastes but it's nice to get someone's opinion. Thanks.
If you are doing Celebrity, I caution you re: their recommendations for on-shore excursions. Their Cayman 'private beach w/great food' turned out to be packed w/people from 3 ships and the food was inedable. I recommend a top line, something like a catamaren for the sting ray tour as the group boats really suck. Stay on board in Jamaica and enjoy the ship. Bon Voyage....
