Heck, being from Alabama, I think that someone should bring a few Kudzu clippings and drop on the grass. Just add water and wait 48 hrs. and the whole ship will be covered in lush, inpenetrable greenery. MWAHAHAHAHAHA Cool
It also begs the question of feet checks at debarkation at foreign ports. You don't want to introduce a foreign grass species to other country's fragile grass ecosystems. We can't have grass growing in Venice!!!

Maybe we could plant some poke and have a "poke salet" festival too. Smile

LMAO... Leave it to Dave to go deep into southern heritage to dredge up that plant. Oh the memories that brought back. Smile

Another option is to go environmental and not use lawnmowers per se, but use sheep instead. This would also have the benefit of providing a source of grass-fed lamb in keeping with Celebrity's high standards.

Sure! You could go to the "farm" in the morning to select the lamb and veal for the evening meal.

They may need to be careful of what kinds of seeds may be blowing in the air when they visit Jamaica and Columbia too. Might get the wrong kinda grass growing on the lawn.

Cheers, Neil

Now that would be amusing. I guess we'd know if a head shop suddenly opened on the promenade

I saw an interview with Richard Fain from Royal Caribbean. He said it's real turf, weighs about 50 tons. They also need an irrigation system, and once watered, the turf will weigh an additional 50 tons. They will have a full time "groundskeeper" on the ship to take care of it.
