Feb 18th - port at 7 am - flight out at 4 pm What is the best way to see Miami? What to see or do? Rent a car for a few hours or taxi? How far to a nice beach? Parking at the beach?
Hi Scoyner, welcome to Cruise-Chat. They do offer some after tour excursions. If you're not going to do one of those, I would suggest a rental car because of all the luggage. South beach isn't that far from Dodge Island (the port) and that's a great place to spend some time. Hope you have a wonderful cruise and once again, welcome aboard!
That time goes faster than you think....since you do not have to rush off the ship. Have a nice free breakfast, then find a nice corner away from those crushing each other to get off. The you can stroll leisurely off the ship, and your luggage is easy to find. I take a cab to a nearby nice hotel, The Intercontinental would be my choice, check your bags with the bellman. Relax by the pool, then treat yourself to lunch, retreive your bags, and cab to the airport. I agree with Penny that South Beach is a beautiful area to visit with a bit more time. I often stay there for my pre-cruise night, the people watching is almost as good as the ship !! LOL
