We are considering a winter cruise on Galaxy, but haven't been on the ship for about six years.

Can anyone comment on its current condition? Last I heard, it was getting quite shabby.

Mercury has had a face lift, and I suspect that Galaxy needs one too.

We heard that Galaxy is due to be refurbished soon. That is why we are not going to book this year on it. We just returned from a cruise on the Century which was refurbished in 2006. It was beautiful and for the money you pay, I think the ship should be up to par. Have you checked out the cruises on the Summit?

We have look at Summit. We've enjoyed Millenium and Constellation recently, but haven't been on Galaxy for almost five years.

She's going in for a refit during the last half of April, 2008, in Freeport, Bahamas, before heading transatlantic on May 3, Miami - Rome

The Galaxy is in rough condition, I would avoid it if I were you.If you are set on sailing with celebrity I would pick a ship that has had a recent refurb. They tend to let thier ships get very rough before they refurb them! Tom
