The cabins are the same size - 170 square feet. The balcony is 38 square feet. Is it worth a thousand more? Only you can answer that question since it is your money. Personally I wouldn't do an Alaska cruise without a balcony. There are many opportunities to sit on the balcony and enjoy the scenery.
