I just heard on the radio. The station is saying that the driver was attempting to avoid a truck, and the bus plunged 300ft. I'm glad Celebrity is standing by the passengers and families. I hope they don't base any of their actions on the fact that this was independent tour.

We were in Arica in 2004. We were on the same tour as the people who were killed. I remember kissing the ground when we arrived back. It was a very scary trip. The roads were narrow and there were no guard rails. My thoughts and prayers are with the families.

A couple I know from a Roll-Call for our Hawaii cruise in may got the message yesterday from Celebrity, that the sister and brother in law died in the accident. They are now on their way to Chile to organize everything to bring their family members back to the US.

My prayers are with them.

How terrible. I'm reading that the victims were members of the B'nai B'rith group and were all older. At least no children were involved, although it's awful to begin with. According to our local news (CT) two of the victims were from Stamford, CT. Their names have been released, so it seems that updates are coming out.

Marita,

That maybe the same couple that will be on my Explorer cruise in November.

My prayers and thoughts go out to all the families that have lost loved one.

And then another tragedy on the Princess this week.

Take a moment and say a prayer for those lost.

Amen

Arvids

We got news from the friends. They had not to fly to Chile. They are getting so many help from RCI and the American ambassador in Chile, it is not neccassary for them to fly to Chile to bring their family home. They also got help from their congressman and a senator.
