We are sailing on the infinity May 20 and I wanted to get an opinion of the infinity. Was the food good? what about the service? We are in the 30 year old age range will there be others in the range? The cruise is an Alaska cruise any help would be good. Thanks, Sherry
We were on Infinity a few weeks ago, although we were on a different itinerary (E. Caribbean). The ship itself is very nice -- layout was very good so easy to get around. Food, always a subjective topic, was a bit disappointing on our cruise. On several occasions, our waiter suggested that I not order a certain entree. Service was good in some places, not good in others, yet that's pretty much the luck of the draw. But, highlights for me included the Thalassotherapy pool, quiet window seat area on Deck 3 near the movie theatre, and the SS United States Restaurant.
Wish I could answer questions about Alaska, but that is one cruise still on the wish list.
Hi Lisa thanks for the reply. Is the Thalassotherapy pool in the gym? I thought I saw that on the website and was interested in knowing more about it.
I loved Sabatini's when I was on the Star Princess so I will have to try SS United States. Hope you can go on the Alaska Cruise someday soon. For me the Caribbean is still on the wish list. That and the Panama Canal.
hi: We were on her in January. Can not speak to the Alaska route either, but this was our 5th on Celebrity. We tried the SSUS resturant on the first night, and never left! If you appreciate true, unhurried, first-class service, and fine food, it is worth every penny. The T-therapy pool is in the general area of the gym and the Elemis area, but is not within. Actually you go through the t-therapy pool to get to the gym/salon. The best breakfast and lunch on the boat is there, right in the same area is a spa-cusine small eating area. Its staffed by the SSUS staff who had a great time letting their hair down unlike the evening's more formal show. The food is simply awesome. Clean eating recipies, lots of salmon, fruit, healthy stuff. After this cruise I would have a hard time going back to the main dining room. The crowd on Celebrity is always to me a little older. The tone of their cruises is much quieter; no constant announcements, no 'pass the orange' type games. We love that aspect, having been on NCL once and berthed next to a Carnaval boat was enough. If you like a quiter time, you will ove it. If not, it is not going to be fun for you.
good luck!

Thank you for the input. We are in our thirties so we like quiet. We love good food and from what everyone has said the SS US resturant will be on the list of things to do. I glad to know they have some healthier dining choices. I have lost 50 pounds and I don't want to gain it all back in 12 days.
katlady - congrats on the weight loss! You will absolutely LOVE the spa cuisine up in the spa area. The after dinner cheese cart in the SSUS should be marked as dangerous :-). Funny story from the SSUS. As a women would get up to head to the powder room, the staff would make sure someone would escort them out of the room - a nice touch. My daughter (20) loved it. My wife, who is a character, decides to get out without the escort, and was successful every night. On our last night, they kept a watch on her from behind, and as soon as she got up there was the matre'd and our waiter. Ha, they got her! We have never had a warmer and comfortable dining experience. (Foods pretty good too LOL) We just booked Zenith last night out of Cape Liberty NJ for our 30th anniversary in September. It will be our first cruise of six without our daughter with us.....BIG :-)

Dangerous cheese cart I saw a show on that it was called "when cheese carts attack" I couldn't watch the whole show it was to scary. Your wife sounds fun she kept the staff on thier toes. I had another question is there a charge for using the Thalassotherapy pool. One of the other threads said some celebrity ships charge to use the Thalassotherapy pool. Did your family use the pool, was there a charge and what was the pool like? Thanks for the help Sherry
There's no charge to use the T-pool on Infinity. Good thing, too, as I was there so often.
The T-pool is amazing. The water is comfortably warm, and there are many jets about for a nice massage. The T-pool area is covered, so it can be used no matter what the weather. As it's an adult only area, our son didn't use the T-pool, but we all enjoyed the outdoor pools on the same deck.
Hi Lisa, The T-pool sounds nice I like that it's an adult only pool. Sometimes you just need to get away from the kids. So I now have a plan of action. I will use the T-pool and eat in the aqua spa cafe. I'm so excited for this trip. I can hardly wait I heard Infinity is in dry dock maybe they are fixing up the cabins. I will have to post a review after the cruise.
Hi Sherry! As LisaP says - the TPool is wonderful for its lack of kiddos and the sensation is unearthly. Nice, that is. I would have never left the area between it and the cafe. I heard the breakfasts are very good there too, although that was early for me. Once of the wine stewarts in SSUS is Petra, she is a doll - she may or maynot remember the three of us who never left there.

Ah! only 42 days until I'm on the infinity. I can't wait. Thanks to all for the info. If there's anything else about Alaska or the Infinity I should know please I'm grateful for the input. Thanks, Sherry

Have tons of fun!!!
Thanks, relaxing sounds like just what I need. Just 38 more days on land and then I cruise. I couldn't wait I feel like a kid waiting for summer vacation to start. We booked the shore excursions yesterday. Did I say that it's only 38 more days until I cruise. YA
Having sailed on the Infinity twice including a cruise to Alaska, I can report that the Infinty is a very nice ship with excellent food and very good service.
I highly recommended one dinner in the United States restaurant as this is a splurge at $25.00 per person but it is an excellent treat.
I also recommend that you rent cars in Juneau and Skagway Alaska. The other cities yu can see on foot. By renting a car you can see more at a lesser cost than taking excursions but do your homework and make sure that yu can drop the rental car off in downtown Juneau becaus e you do not want to make your way back to the ship from the Juneau airport. Also, consider hiking the East Loop trail when you visit the Mendenhall Galacier. This is a wonderful hike that puts you above the Glacier for some truly great views of Alaska.

Hi Fred, Only 29 day until I cruise ya thanks for the advise. We will have to try the United States restaurant. We booked on a 12 day cruise this is our longest cruise and we were wondering is there a self service Laundry on the Infinity? It is nice to no everyone had such a high opinion of the infinity's food and service.
Actually, Katlady, I didn't think highly of the dining room food on our cruise. It was OK, but didn't measure up to the Celebrity I had remembered from years ago. But -- dinner in the SS United States Restaurant was an exception. Everything there was superb. The foie gras was magnificent, as was everything else I had that evening. I suggest you book early as space fills up quickly. And, be sure to watch the video that runs outside the entrance. The charge was up to $30 per person, yet worth every penny -- and more.
Also, there is no self service laundry, but the usual laundry service through the cabin steward instead.
